You may have noticed it’s been quiet around these parts. Or maybe not. But it’s because my book deadline was quickly looming. Like a large thunderhead, my October 31 final manuscript deadline has been hanging over my head and–quite honestly–freaking me out.
But guess what? The book is done!
On Sunday, I turned my final manuscript in.
56, 605 words.
13 chapters & one appendix
92 single-spaced pages
In a single click of the “send” button, my Backpacking 101 manuscript was sent to my editor. Truthfully, it amazes me how eight weeks of work can be submitted within a mere fraction of a second. In fact, the second I hit send, I panicked. Did I double check everything in the document? Was everything appropriately tagged? But there was nothing to be done. The document was in my editor’s hands. Done.
And now we wait. Spring, 2017 can get here soon enough; I’m so excited to see my book on store shelves!

Only 8 weeks to write an entire book?!? That’s wicked fast!
….and a bit stressful! 😉
