#7: A Pic That Makes You Cry

Enough on that one!

Awesome weekend, but very mellow. Took the roadie out with my dad on Saturday for a 30 mile ride. It’s been awhile since I took my road bike out so I was sure that he was gonna smoke me—he minimally rides 100 miles per week. Since I have both Elephant Rock on June 5 and Tough Mudder on June 26, I’ve been trying to split up my workout weeks with 3 cycling workouts and 3 running workouts  (as well as some strength training which we all KNOW I totally suck at!) Anyway, the ride went great and it was so nice to get out. As long as I have been cycling, I am so sick of riding solo. When you’re out there for a few hours, you start wishing you had someone to talk to! I know this because I went mountain biking yesterday all by myself and after an hour, I was itching for company 🙂 I really really wanted to go and the weather was beautiful, but no one was available–just one of those days. After thinking about it, I figured I’d go on my own. After all the trail was only in Boulder so it wasn’t even like I’d have this huge drive. I just rode the High Plain Trail (which is some nice and easy singletrack just off Hwy. 93) and it was nice. Lots of people there, but what can you expect on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Boulder, mecca of all that is outdoors?! I did start thinking about how I could totally endo on some rocks and smash my face in, without a single friend to see me do it, and that kinda got me a little concerned…but hey, some stranger could pick me up off the rocks, right?!!! 🙂
