So two weeks ago was rough, and that was what led to my purchasing a ridiculous amount of chick lit. We’re not gonna discuss that…but my chick lit does come today, so I’ll be on my couch all night reading….you know, if you need me!
So, I was already dealing with all that stuff when lo and behold, all of my final projects for school came due. Of course they would do that. STRESS! And then, to add a little fuel to the already-busy fire, my mom found out she tore her ACL and needs surgery shortly. I feel really bad for her and I am so sad that she has to do it, but she is one tough cookie. I know she’ll come out feeling spry and like her usual yoga-riffic self in no time! It does mean she is going to be layed up for our busy work season which means I’m going to have to pick up the slack…which is awesome cause it is also when the new semester of school starts. Yippee! And then an old boyfriend from a million years ago called me which was super bizarre because we literally haven’t spoken in 8 years. Def weird and it totally threw me for a loop. And finally, as if my mind wasn’t already whirling enough, I saw an awful hit and run on Saturday that made me so angry at the human race! This woman totally blew threw a stop sign and hit the guy on a motorcycle that was in front of me. She then tried to drive away, but like the stupid individual that she is, she turned down the side road that leads directly to my apartment complex….but there is no through street, no way for her to get out other than by driving right past me and her victim. Sooo…..she sat in the parking lot, trying to hide from us while he stood on the curb, bleeding all over the sidewalk. It was pretty bad. The poor guy was actually fine, save for a few nasty holes on his foot and his knee, but the silly woman IRRITATED me! How could you do that to someone?! ARGH!
Anyway, I had the perfect weekend that cured all of my irritation with the world. I thought Saturday was going to be brutal cause that was when I decided to finish all of my projects for class, but it turned out okay. I’m such an early bird that I woke at 6am ready to go. I took Tals to the track for a quick speed workout and then came back to settle into all of my work. Luckily, I was crazy productive and had everything finished by noon!! Wahoo! I took Tals on another run just to unkink my back from all the desk-sitting, and I came back to a welcome text from Matt, asking me if I wanted to go climbing. OF COURSE! We went to Rock’n & Jam’n and it was good to officially clear out my head. We climbing for two hours, with him totally dominating me (but I’m getting better!) We then used their gym upstairs to do a little bit of a pull-up contest. Of course, I lost, but the workout and company cheered me right up!
After climbing I zoomed home, showered, and headed out to meet the crew at the Ale House at Amato’s, a new restaurant in the Highlands. It was so good to catch up with everyone and just have a nice mellow night. And of course, Saturday was followed up by an epic Easter sunday yesterday at my parents where this was made:
How adorable is that? Holidays are always big events with my family, and yesterday was no exception. We hid eggs, baskets, ate way too much sugar, watched a Harry Potter move…the usual.
What a way to start the work week! Hope y’all had a good weekend too!!
