Akinz Grand Opening (and beanie giveaway!)

Hooray! I love giveaway days when I know it’s something y’all are going to like!

A few weeks ago, I was in Fort Collins to listen to a guest speaker at REI. While up there, I contacted Suzanne, the owner and founder of Akinz, and swung by her new shop. You see, Akinz just recently moved into old town Fort Collins and she is very excited about her new storefront. After all, the company has come a long ways since its 2005 founding!

Because my family owns one, I truly understand the sweat and effort that goes into developing a small business. It ain’t easy, folks, and this is why I love supporting local Colorado companies. I appreciate that people are out there trying to create their own dreams. In fact, I love Akinz motto of Find Your Wings and I truly believe it is something that pertains to daily life. Akinz wants their motto to encourage everyone to find what they love and then push themselves to the max in order to achieve it.

Akinz offers a variety of tees and tanks, but their beanies and hats are by far my favorite product that she sells. In fact, I own three Akinz beanies of my own, as well as this trucker hat (seriously, could there be a better hat for me?!) I love that all of the beanies are handmade by Suzanne and I think it is great that she carried this idea into her new store. If any of y’all live in FoCo, you should definitely swing by and check out her wall of yarn! You can handpick your own colors and have her custom-make a beanie for you!

However, for the majority of you that don’t live in Colorado (or even those that do!), let’s get on with the giveaway! Suzanne has offered to give away an Akinz beanie to one lucky reader!

Viking in Teal! Because I am trying to look more “polished and professional” so I just bought the Arc’Teryx Sylva Parka (prodeal prices of course. But I couldn’t bring myself to be too conservative, so I bought bright red (Grenadine) and think Teal would give it a lovely contrast 🙂

oh man, I love Akinz! I have a super comfy tank top from them that I basically sleep in all summer. I love the black hobo crochet beanie. It’d be great for around town this winter!

Oh my heavens, the Asher Beanie in the Maize Yellow color is TO DIE FOR – and it matches my favorite hand-knit tube scarf that I wear literally every single day during the winter. Thanks for spreading the love for this awesome local shop, I’ll have to go visit when I get back to Colorado!
