Almost Famous

It’s like 6am and I’m headed out the door for work shortly, but I have two things….

First of all, I’m (almost) famous!! Go head over to A Duck on the Run and check it out. Next thing you know, I’ll be as famous as her:

Oh dear. I take that back. Really, I never said that.

Second thing that make me very sad and very cranky pants–my plantar fasciitis has come back with a vengeance!! I had it two years ago but it wasn’t super bad and I got rid of it with some simple ibuprofen. This time, I’m not having so much luck. My foot hurts like a mother, which is awesome because I have Elephant Rock, a 62-mile bike tour/race on Sunday. At least it isn’t running, right? I’d prefer to avoid the injections that a lot of people take for PF, but who knows…if it keeps hurting, I might have to.

Does anyone else have plantar fasciitis? What do you do to fix it?

Oh no!!! That’s terrible! My dad dealt with plantar fascitis. He never ever ever ever ever walks barefoot anymore. He only wears Burkinstocks when he’s not in his work boots or running shoes. No unsupportive shoes ever.

It’s no bueno. Of course, I’m self-diagnosing here, but since it flared up two years ago, I’m assuming its the same. The weird thing is that when I do barefoot running, I’m fine…but then I run with “normal” and “supportive” running shoes, and it flares up like crazy!

Oh man, I hope the plantar fasciitis feels better soon…I had a friend with it once and she had a foot massage tool thing that she said really helped.

It’s been a week in Santa Fe and I’m finally adjusting to the altitude…but of course I’m leaving tomorrow, heading back to Virginia 🙁

Love it out here, can’t wait to come back!
