I may have mentioned this before, but Will and I live by a lake. We didn’t realize how much we would love the location until after we moved in, but it has become an integral part of our day-to-day lives. It’s maybe a quarter mile walk from our door to the shore. Dirt trails wind through the tall grass, allowing Tals and me to run for miles. I don’t run there every time, but I’m definitely a regular!
So, when Dick’s Sporting Goods offered to buy me some new clothes to feature in a post, to the lake we went! But first, to the store. After all, how could we photo new clothes if I hadn’t picked them out?!
Will and I browsed the mall one night, checking out the gear in Dick’s. Apparently the store has gone through a redesign, offering more space in the aisles and coordinating outfits on mannequins. I originally thought I would just grab an outfit off a mannequin, but in the end, I got creative with my own choices.
After the shopping trip came the fun part! Will and I woke up pre-dawn this past Wednesday and headed down to the lake before sunrise. The clouds were growing pink as we waded through the grassy meadow, and the lake was eerily calm. It was perfection.

For some reason, there is this random large concrete slab buried in one of the meadows. It’s a bit tall, so I have to put in some effort to climb on top, but the view from up there is wicked. Naturally, more photos ensued!
Guys. These capris. LOVE!
One of my favorite things about the lake {aside from the proximity} is the quiet. At 6am, we saw one other person and that was it. And once my legs woke up, I decided to go for a little jog myself.
Sure, I didn’t have time for much more than a mile or two, but it felt SO GOOD to be outside while watching the world wake up. I keep telling myself that I should do this regularly, but as of yet, it hasn’t happened.
But seriously. Good morning world!
