Athleta Esprit de She 5k /10k: Who Wants a Free Entry?!

I know this is a bit last minute, but if you’re a runner based in Denver, let’s play!

The Life Time Athleta Esprit de She is a 5k or 10k race held this Thursday, August 28 in Westminster. Last year, almost 500 women participated in the event and I’m guessing a large reason is the post-race festivities: they offer both a Bubbly Bar and a Beauty Bar with complimentary massages, mini manicures and hair braiding! Now, I’m, not big on the hair braiding but post-race champagne?! Count me in!

In addition to that bubbly goodness, runners will receive a year subscription to Self magazine along with a custom performance tank by Athleta. The entire event supports Girls on the Run, a charity organization that encourages girls to get outside and get moving via running. Although I don’t have first-hand experience with Girls on the Run, I’ve heard great things so I’m happy this event supports a deserving organization.

So, want to run with me?! I’ll be at the event, drinking champagne and running the 10k at my standard snail pace {possibly simultaneously?!}, so it’s sure to be a good time! Athleta is offering up one entry to either the 5k or 10k, so leave a comment below, telling me your favorite {or least favorite!} thing about running. The giveaway will end on Tuesday, August 26, at midnight. I’ll randomly choose a winner and notify them on Wednesday morning, so at least you’ll have a solid 24 hours of advance notice…..living on the edge!

Good luck!

Oh my gosh the push I need!! My favorite thing about running is that it has proven to me how strong I am, and able I am to push through my mental block of “I can’t do it.” I never thought I could run more than a mile, and proved myself wrong over the past few weeks by running a 5K on the treadmill. Would love to get out with ladies and run a real 5K!

My favorite thing(s) about running are absolutely the feeling of accomplishment after a hard run, the way it clears my mind on a rough day, and the feeling of new running shoes!

My favorite thing about running would be the fact that I can do things I never thought I would be able to, if I just work hard for them. Running PRs, placing in a race, for instance. When I started running I never thought I would get to do those things. It shows me I can do anything in life I set my mind to.

My favorite thing about running is the alone time; no kids if I can help it! Plus, I feel strong and accomplished afterwards, just what every momma needs!

My favorite thing about running is the sense of accomplishment I get as I improve. It’s such a good feeling to be able to run a little further or a little faster than before.

Oh, I would love to run! preferably the 5k since I am tapering for my marathon this weekend. My favorite thing about running is when I am having a good day it makes me feel like I can fly, on bad days it makes me feel like I can breathe.
