Anyway, so our company credit card got stolen awhile ago, blah blah, we had to get a new card. I thought we had switched around all of our accounts, but as I realized this morning when I tried to log into our company website, we forgot to change out the credit card for our domain name. Our website is not working because our domain has expired. I just tried to give them the new credit card number and have them reactivate it, but of course, that was too easy. Apparently it’s been deactivated for 6 weeks now, which they have decided is far too long. I need to actually have a real life phone conversation to get this solved. No problem, I thought, I can do this.
Fail.
Apparently, the company now in charge of our domain is an Australian company. They even have a nice Australian accent on their touch tone system. How pleasant, I thought, to hear the lovely lilt of voices. How bad could this be? After all, plenty of good things come out of Australia like:
Kangaroos. I like them!
Koalas are pretty darn cute too. Source
And even better? These come from Australia too!
I love Trueblood! Source
Hugh isn’t half bad either!! Source
But you know what? These domain people are not nearly as cool as Hugh and Ryan. For example, they only operate on Australia time which is a far cry from Mountain-Standard time. I’m not sure how far, but the machine happily informed me that I could call back tonight between 6pm and 1am if I wanted to speak with someone.
How convenient for a Friday night, huh?!
Good thing my NEW RUNNING SHOES finally came in the mail yesterday!!!! I’m thinking it’s time to break those beautiful babies in ….. before I call back Australia.
Anyone have any plans for the weekend? You know, aside from long distance–across the world phone calls simply to reactivate a website domain?! (And no, I’m not bitter or anything. . .)
