Just a Colorado Gal

Backcountry Skiing in Northern Colorado

Happy Monday! As I’m sure is the case with everyone, this week is still hit or miss in terms of writing time, but I thought I’d pop in now that the Christmas chaos has died down. Will and I enjoyed a fantastic holiday over here, complete with family time on both sides.

Will gifted me a camera so I can finally start shooting some photos of my own {!}, and my parents surprised me with something I’ve wanted for years: a KitchenAid mixer! I never asked for one as a gift because they are so darn pricey, but my mom is great about listening and remembering. I was shocked when I opened the box, but my mind is already spinning with all of the possibilities. Anyone have great KitchenAid recipes or tips for me?!

This moose greeted us as we drove into the park. And do you see how awesome my new camera is?!

I also wanted to give y’all a sneak peek into this past weekend’s snowy adventure! Awhile back, I referenced an exciting partnership with a magazine and an outdoor brand.

As part of this venture, I teamed up with Eddie Bauer and Travel+Leisure magazine for a three day/two night wintry excursion in the Never Summer Nordic Yurts of Northern Colorado. We came out of the backcountry yesterday and while I’m definitely losing a couple of toenails as a result of ski touring, the trip was a massive success.

The big post will be live on January 12 so y’all will have to sit tight until then, but just know this: I’m trying something new over here and I’m really excited to show off the final product. How’s that for a cliffhanger?!
