After some ass-kicking sessions with the weights and in spin class over the past few days, I was really itching to get outside and get moving yesterday. We are having the perfect Colorado weather lately: 70* degrees and sunny on the Front Range yet snowing and accumulating up at the ski resorts. Could I ask for any more?!
I decided to take Tals to this open space trail for some trail running. Unfortunately, there was a wicked head wind on the way out, but I didn’t mind. It was just nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine with my pup! I mean, could the running view be any better??

Anyway, it was very obvious that I hadn’t done the trail running bit in awhile! I was stumbling all over the place and rolling my ankles on rocks and holes. Seriously. You’d think I was learning how to walk for the first time! I like to think that I was too caught up in the beautiful day and wasn’t paying attention, but I’m pretty sure that would be a lie. I was totally paying attention and just sucked! Clearly, I need to get back in trail shape, or at least learn how to walk again. Who the hell knows what I’m going to do when the trails and paths get all icy and snowy in a few months. I’m going to be a running walking disaster!!
You know who did find it amusing? This girl:
Yup, she was loving life. She kept bounding ahead as fast as she could, and then literally skidding to a stop so that she could turn around to watch me flailing behind her. Actually, I’m pretty sure she wore this exact doggy grin the entire time! Almost like she was mocking me….or laughing at me. What a jerk. Too bad I love her so much, but maybe as punishment for making fun of her mother, I’ll restrict her Milk Bone intake to the minimal 16 treats today instead of her usual 45. That should show her who’s boss, right?!
Anyway, the stats for my ridiculous-yet-fun walk run:
Check out that awesome first mile. Is there any way could have stumbled around any faster?!?!
On another totally random note, check out this picture. I found it in my Women’s Health magazine:
I ask you! Is that at all an appropriate name for facial hair removing strips?! Does this make men world-wide just wince at the thought?!!! Inappropriate!!
Just saying.
Anyone ever tried these Nads things????
HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY TO EVERYONE!!!
