Anyway, I ran the Bolder Boulder yesterday! We did it for our fundraiser of course, but I have to tell you that it was a bit of a debacle. You see, there is 55k people that do this race. Therefore, I determined ahead of time that it really wasn’t gonna be a serious race where I shot for a PR. I know, a lot of you serious runners will disagree with that but the fact is that so many people means a lot of bobbing and weaving. Eh. Not interested. But even better?! There are so many fun things along side of the course! I’m talking cupcakes and cotton candy and slip ‘n slides and beer! No joke! It was even more awesome cause Cindy and I decided we needed to pee around mile 3 so we had to find some bathrooms and wait in a line for a good 5 minutes. All this added up to a 75 minute 10k….hahaha! That’s ok–we had a great time! 🙂
Sad part is that I am a silly, silly girl sometimes! My shoe lace came untied at one point so I stopped to tie it really quick cause I didn’t want Craig and Cindy to have to wait for me. I noticed immediately that I had tied it a bit too tight but I figured I only had like 2 miles left so no big deal. Wrong. Apparently, I cut off a tad too much circulation to my foot (and I have poor circulation anyway!) and my foot cramped up in my arch like crazy. I noticed it hurting while running but it really got bad after we were done. I finally took off my shoe and found a golf ball-size lump on my arch! I’ve been trying massage it out with a rolling ball for the past 24 hours but it is still there. No bueno. And it hurts like a mother! YOWZA!!!
How was your weekend? Any tips for getting rid of my arch-nemesis?! (Haha, do you get it?! Cause the cramped muscle is in my arch?!!)

Ouch!!! Have you tried alternating heat and ice? Heat for circulation and ice for the swelling? I’m not an ortho, but it’s just my first thought. The popular method of advice they give to most injuries: R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression, elevation)
