We went to a tango show the first night we got here, and of course, I was incredibly impressed. These girls were kicking their legs everywhere so fast and so high–it was seriously cool. We also did a tour of the Teatro Colòn, this beautiful old opera house that was supposedly the best in the world or something until they built the one in Sydney. It was nice, but you can tell they don`t have the money down here that they doin other countries–some parts looked a little rundown. We also managed to go take a tango class down the road from our hostel–much to Steve`s displeasure, I am sure!—and I loved it. It was a two hour class, and they taught us the basic 3 dances. Of course, I am now hooked, and I have the serious intentions of returning home and taking more classes so I can be like those fast moving, high kicking girls in the tango show the night before!
At any rate, Chelsea and Byron took off today, and Steve and I are headed down to the bottom of the world tomorrow morning–we have a flight to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego. I am so psyched about it, and everyone keeps telling us how beautiful and amazing Tierra del Fuego and Torres del Paine are. I can`t wait
We also walked around a few of the barrios around BA. They have this one, La Boca, that is great for photos, but in reality, the neighborhood is not so cool. They painted all the buildings all these different colors back in the day cause that was all that they had, but outside of the tourist zone, the neighborhood is pretty rough. Pictures still turned out cool!
