I’m officially back in the game, my friends!
But let me start from the beginning. I actually went and got a massage yesterday afternoon which I desperately needed. I take a lot of stress in my back, and when combined with all the spills and hits I take during my various “fun” activities, I get pretty kinked and knotted. I found a therapist that does both massages and simple alignments, and she is amazing. Anyway, I saw her in the afternoon and after an amazing hour of a somewhat painful massage, she made me whole spine go CRACK!!
It felt awesome.
I’ve been a little hesitant about the whole back-cracking/chiropractic concept in the past. In fact, I’m still not 100% sure that I’ll ever actually go to a real chiropractor. Something about the idea makes me nervous. But I loved this today! She took this cloth thing and wrapped it around my head and kinda pulled like she was lengthening my spine — I literally felt every single vertebrate decompress and lengthen, and the best part? I usually have a hollow of pain in the center of my back (especially when I don’t exercise) and as soon as she did her thing, the pain went away. Like immediately. How awesome is that?! I’m all smiles now 🙂
I have no idea why that picture went to the left…but I can’t fix it. Oh well!
After I got my back all crackity crack cracked, I went to the gym for a good kick-ass session. I’m pretty sure she told me not to do this but I didn’t really listen. Hmm…..maybe that’s why my back was so jacked to begin with. Weird.
Anyway, I did an easy mile on the AWFUL treadmill before taking my body pump class. BP was awesome and I am proud to say that I lifted some big girl weights. I’m gonna be hurting tomorrow and it’s awesome. Know why?!
Cause I’M OFFICIALLY NOT SICK ANYMORE!!!Â
PS IT’S SNOWING OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone say “ski season”?!
Do you see a chiropractor or a massage therapist? How often?
What was your workout yesterday?

chiros kinda freak me out too, I get a massage once a month to keep things moving and wish it was more like once a week!
Chiropractors used to freak me out but I have been converted. My chiro always warns me about what she is going to do and that makes it so much easier. She is great! You should consider it!
I can’t go skiing until I fit in my ski pants again!!!!
My workout rocked!
Have a great day!
I have never been to one….it’s too scary. I imagine if my dr. told me to go to one I probably would though 😀 and I don’t ski….can you believe I hate winter sports and I’m canadian!??!?! I only love to skate! and possibly toboggan
yAY for an easy mile and not being sick! xo
i randomly did a “free” chiropractor session at a ragnar once in between my relay legs. i did not know what i was getting myself into an it hurt like hell during but i felt awesome after. so glad you you are feeling better and that your back is feeling awesome!
I used to be scared of the chiro too. I walked around for over a year with lower back pain and not being able to bend over and time my shoes or bend and lift my leg to get my pants on. I finally went…couple of sessions and I was all fixed. I could not believe that I waited so long to try it. Seem to be having problems getting rid of the issue I have right now..I’m wondering if some ART or a good massage would be helpful. I’m asking the next time I go.
Glad you are feeling better!
I’m a Colorado native and only been skiing once. Didn’t like it, didn’t like exercise. I wonder if I would like it more now?
I am scared of the chiro too
Glad to hear your all better
I love and believe in massage, but I’ve been dubious about chiropractors for a long time. My dad was an insurance company lawyer and he dealt with lots of claims against chiropractors, and I heard about them growing up in a very negative light. However, if my back issues don’t go away with just massage, I may give one a try too. My left low back has been just a little hinky since my pregnancy, and some days (like yesterday) it hurts quite a lot.
yes, we def got some snow last night huh! 😉
I HATE the treadmill too, but it seems like the only option in the winter here! blah!
That mood graphic is the best thing I’ve seen all day. 🙂 I’m glad you’re feeling better!
I used to go to one twice a week when I was younger because of a car accident, but now I can’t go a single day without cracking my back! I mean, it feels awesome, but it seems unnatural and grosses out a lot of people lol. Glad you’re feeling better!
Glad you are feeling better!
I’ve been such a bad girl and deemed myself too busy for my monthly massages lately and can feel it!!!
I love the face chart. Halarious.
