Domesticity is Bliss?

Sounds weird coming from my mouth (or my fingers!), no?!

I’m not exactly known for my domesticity. I missed that ship when it sailed in my early 20s and spent the better half of the decade backpacking around the world and cycling across the country instead of learning to cook dinner and searching for a home to purchase. Luckily for me, the economy has now crashed and I am starting to seriously thinking of buying my first place within the next year. I am so over renting. Really, all I ask is to be able to paint my walls whatever color I want! Is that too much to ask?! I think not 🙂

In even more bizarre news, I’m actually cooking and baking a lot these days. Weird, right?! I’ve always enjoyed baking but I find myself more and more “in the mood.” For example, yesterday I came back from the gym and had the urge so I baked some banana bread. And I’ve taken to buying all sorts of weird (to me!) stuff at the grocery store and figuring out what to cook with it. It’s a process and I’m learning….but I am actually enjoying it! 🙂

I started cooking a lot around the age of 24 and have grown to really love it. You should do a vegetable share from a local farm this summer… it’s an eye-opening experience! Kinda forces you to eat a lot of fresh veggies and you get some weird stuff that you have to figure out how to cook.

I’ve actually thought of that! Luckily, I live right across the street from Sprouts which is a farmer’s market-style grocery store. Not quite the same but I kinda adore browsing the produce section 🙂
