So, I was checking out my friend Greta Eagan’s website for her eco-conscious fashion website, Fashion Me Green, and she posted this cool map the other day in honor of Earth Day:
Yes, I already knew Colorado was the state with the lowest obesity rate–it’s been that way for years! I notice it more when I leave the state to travel–particularly to the mid-west–and realize that I am shocked by the size of some people. I’m just not used to being around too many overweight individuals because everyone here is so damn athletic! However, I thought it was interesting that Colorado’s negative is that we have the highest number of avalanche deaths! Of course, this isn’t a good thing….but I assume that number is high because so many people participate in outdoor activities, thus leading to the thinnest state in the country. It’s cyclical. After all, it could be worse….
