As part of the GTIS half marathon, all digital photos are given to participants for free after the race. I received an email yesterday announcing that the pictures were ready, so naturally, I hopped over the website to check them out.
Oh dear.
Remember how I mentioned that I was crying at the end of the run because my knee hurt so bad? Well, yeah. That’s apparently when the photographer decided to go trigger happy! Look at these winners:
Ok, this one is tolerable. I remember walking, feeling all sad for myself, when I saw this photographer and decided I needed to run, at least for the photo. So don’t get too excited; it’s totally staged 🙂
But then there were the good ones:
“Ouch, this hurt, this hurts, this hurts. Am I done yet?”
“Screw it. I don’t care if there are people watching; I’m gonna cry my face off anyway.”
Let the pain begin.

I’m pretty sure you look better in these photos than I look in my typical race photo. I have yet to see one of me that is even the slightest bit flattering.
I have NEVER had a decent race picture. I actually think that 2nd picture is pretty great! You look very focused and hard core. 🙂

I would never have known if you didn’t tell me you were crying! Looks like a typical “am I done yet?” finish line pic. You hid the pain well!

I must say I don’t think the photos are all that bad and good Lord lady…look at your muscular legs!!
Racing’s tough… it’s no glamour shot moment 😉 But you look good and your quads are awesome! I do have a few friends who always manage to take beautiful race shots. How do they do that??? Mine are always pretty painful to look at!
What??? You can’t even tell you’re crying! I thought you were going to have like tear stains or something. To anyone else, it looks like you are just grimacing like you ran your ass off for the last 13.1 miles.
Your legs look ridiculously strong in the next to last picture. That’s my favorite by far!

You definitely don’t LOOK like you’re crying! And from those few photos – this course looks so beautiful! On my list for next year 🙂
