In all actuality, I have 17-18 miles on the schedule for tomorrow, so I will more than likely be running this in the morning, driving back to Denver, and then running a couple of more. But, we’ll see how that turns out 🙂
I registered for this half marathon MONTHS ago because both my mom and Cindy wanted to run it as their first ever half marathons! Who could pass up the opportunity to watch their friends and fam complete their first 13.1? Not me! Unfortunately, my mom tore her ACL last year while skiing with me and she may have pushed the training too hard. As of now, it is still up in the air as to whether or not she will be running.
The good thing about the GTIS half marathon? The elevation profile!
I keep telling myself that I really don’t want to go fast and that a PR is completely out of the question. After all, this is just a training run, right? However, when you look at a course with that much elevation drop AND I know that I have been putting in lots of training and a PR is highly likely, it is definitely hard to resist. I have a feeling I’ll make the decision during the first mile of the race 🙂
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
