Remember a few days ago when I was telling you all about my owie (yes, I also use that word) on my knee? I laid off “running” for a few days, and it quit. So, I became a detective. Kinda like Sherlock Holmes.

Unfortunately, I did NOT find a Sherlock that looked like THIS during my sleuthing. Too bad.
Anyway, I thought about what had changed lately in my workout routine that could be causing the knee pain. I came up with two reasons:
- I’ve been taking a lot of Body Pump classes and there is a good chance that I actually don’t know how to do a proper squat 🙂
- Maybe I’ve been putting too many miles on my minimalist shoes
To solve problem #1, I had a friend show me proper technique. Yeah, I sure was sucking at those but now I’m all better. Pretty much a squatting machine! (Does that sound awkward?!)
To solve problem #2, I decided to alternate between regular shoes and my minimalist shoes. Perhaps I’m jumping into too much minimalist running and I haven’t quite built my muscles up to the appropriate level. Sooooooooo…..off to Boulder Running Company I went! They had me run on a treadmill and filmed me, just like they did 10 years ago when I was last there. They gave me a couple options, and I got very excited cause they mentioned the Brooks Adrenaline GTS shoes. I had just seen a GORGEOUS pair of these shoes over at SUAR and I was so excited that they would work for my feet!! Of course, I ran right home and ordered those babies on Zappos in this perfect set of colors:

Only 4-5 business days until the gloriousness of these shoes will be on my feet–and all my running ouchies will be gone!!
