Just a Colorado Gal

I hate Brazil!

I am seriously a little bitter with the Brazilians cause they are causing me so much hassle these days. First of all, we couldn´t get into their country cause of the visa issue…sad, but we got over it, accepted it, and found other things to do. Well, now we are trying to get to Ciudad del Este, a city on the tri-border of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay, so we can visit Steve´s friend Byron. Well, apparently all the busses from here go through Brazil before Ciudad del Este, so we can´t take them. Long story short, we have to do about two days worth of bus rides in a circle just to get where 3 hours of rides should have taken us…all because of Brazil not letting us pass through…..grrrrr.

Anyway, we went to San Ignacio after Iberá, and checked out the Jesuit ruins. Very cool and very pretty. I´ll stick photos up some day when we aren´t having serious internet problems!

After that, we came here to Puerto Iguazú to check out Iguazú falls….they were incredible!!! Like the pretty pictures??

Want to hear something else I discovered the other day? Argentina has these love hotel things that are ridiculous! They rent rooms by the hour for people on romantic trysts, but they supposedly aren´t dirty like the ones in the States would be (or so I hear) You pull in and they flash a number at you on a sign, and so you drive directly that the garage with that number on it, pull in, close the door, and then go to your room…all so nobody has to see your face. Once in there, the hotel attendant will call you and ask if you want a free beverage, and if you do, he will bring it to you room and slide it through a closed window thing in your wall, again so no one has to see anyone. They also apparently have menus full of….toys. Believe it or not, we read all about these things in one of the Lonely Planet books. They are on the way to the airport in one town, and can you imagine pulling in there if you didn´t know what it was? WHOOPS!
