I’ll Never Learn

And you know why? Because for me, procrastination just works. I woke up super early this morning– no alarm or anything–at 5:15 because A) I always get up early, but more importantly, B) my body knew that I had a lot to do today. But that’s the good thing with me. When I’m under the gun and really  needing to crack down and get stuff done, I do great work in minimal time. I got that massive amount of work done today by 6pm, in addition to taking a 2 hr break in the middle to eat Red Mango and go to the VS semiannual sale with my mama (Priorities, right?!) as well as take Tals to the dog park this morning for an hour. Boo-Ya!!!

Starting to freak out by the way. Why, you ask?

YIKES! We are running next Sunday on the 26th at 10:40am. There are five of us and we all knew that it was gonna be tough, but now that the days are counting down, the sheer terror is starting to kick in! I mean, seriously–the course is insane! 9 miles, an elevation change of 4200 feet with a top elevation of 11,440 feet, including 24 obstacles. And if that wasn’t enough? Listen to some of these obstacle descriptions:

Source

Electroshock Therapy: Release your inner demons as you sprint through a field of live wires; some of which carry a 10,000 volt shock (yes, I paid to get electrocuted)

Source

Funky Monkey: Monkey bars were easy when you were five, but you’ll need to hold on extra tight to these. Some of them have been greased with butter and you’ll get a shock when you fall into an ice cold lake.

Well, that one already tells you the description….but I don’t look like those men. It would be great if I could find one of them to hold my wood, however. Or vice versa. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Source

Berlin Walls: Show team spirit and camaraderie as you work with other Tough Mudders to scale our series of 12 foot high walls, tough enough when dry, but really fun when wet.

In short, I’m terrified. Did I mention that temps dropped to 35 degrees on the second day of the SoCal TM, complete with wind gusts of 60mph? Only 63% finished on the second day! That was in SoCal….can you imagine what Beaver Creek and almost 12,000 feet will be like?!

Anyone else out there doing Tough Mudder?????

oooooohhhh….Someone told me about Tough Mudder a couple of weeks ago and I have been thinking of doing the FL one with them in December. There aren’t many people that really know about this and I hear it’s way harder then Warrior Dash! I can’t wait to hear your report!! GOOD LUCK!!

I did Warrior Dash last year and while it was fun, I definitely didn’t think it was hard….I think this will be a different story! I will definitely let you know once I’m done…assuming I survive 🙂

I’ll be there covering the event but won’t be able to partake…and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing 😉

It’s a good thing you’ve done this before; I’d need a serious fitness plan to make it 5 minutes in there. How do you really get into something like a Tough Mudder? Do many people travel the country to take part in these events?

You know, I’m not sure, but their fb page seems to have a lot of people from nearby states coming in for the event–which is kinda scary if you’re coming from Kansas to 12,000 feet! I’ll def do a recap post once (if) I survive!
