Island Hopping in the Andaman

So, still laying around on the beach and loving it. We moved to Ko Lanta, another island in the Andaman, just a little but further south, and this one is much more my speed. The island is really laid back, totally mellow, and compeltely devoid of chaos and big cities…..in other words, perfect! Our hotel, Sri Lanta, is really nice and we have a little bungalow with an indoor/outdoor shower combo….of course, that means the bugs can get ferocious, but it is really nice.

My mom and I have been doing some yoga here at the hotel, and that has been a trip. They have this wooden stage thing set up by the beach where they do the classes every morning, and so we went down yesterday to check it out. This guy is seriously the best yogi I have ever seen! He could totally do all of the positions you see in magazines without even flinching, and this is the first time my muscles have been sore the next day after a class. I loved it. The one flaw, however, is that everyone walking to breakfast in the morning walks right by the stage, so I did kinda feel like we were putting on a show, but whatever….it’s good for the body!

Looks like we may head out to do some snorkelling tour tomorrow, and then we catch a flight over the the Gulf to check out some other islands on that side. We are gonna head to Ko Tao which makes me HAPPY because that is where all of the good diving is (supposedly). I’m super psyched, but admittedly, a little nervous. I’ve never gone diving without a partner, or for that matter, without anyone I know, so it kinda creeps me out a little….what happens when you have no one to look out for you 75 feet under the water? We’ll see how it goes!
