Just a Ball of Happiness

Hey guys!

Promise, I didn’t intend to post the engagement photo and run away, even though that’s exactly what happened! Things have been pretty hectic the past week but it’s all good. First of all, I want to thank everyone for the warm wishes and congrats on our engagement. As you’d expect, we’re both pretty happy as well, so things have been all smiles over here!

Wedding dresses in Chinatown

I actually flew out to Los Angeles this past weekend for a combo birthday celebration/bachelorette party. My friend Cindy is getting married this spring so the girls and I headed to LA to celebrate. She had ordered a custom-designed wedding dress in Chinatown to complement her Chinese heritage, and this past weekend was the final fitting. It just happened to fall on the weekend of my 32nd birthday, so we figured we’d have a gals trip! We spent the weekend eating, drinking and dancing in Santa Monica, and had an absolute blast. I definitely couldn’t handle the hustle ‘n bustle of LA on the regular, but it was such a great place for a weekend trip.

Even better? We started up our 2014 work season today! For those of you that have read my blog for awhile, you likely know that my family owns a landscaping company and that is my day job. Since Colorado experiences true winters, we close the company from December 1 through February 28 every season, affording me lots of free time to ski and frolic in the snow. Alas, spring is coming and it is time to get back to work! Truthfully, I’m excited to get back in the game and am looking forward to this season. We have a great staff and I’m looking forward to working with them this year.

So, in short, life is grand! I’ll start recapping our Paris and Iceland trip later this week, but wanted to explain all of that first. I’ll leave you with the Pharrell Williams video above because, well….I’m just happy!
