Let’s talk about my feet.

Sounds a little weird, but I swear, I have a point. Well, two actually.

Yesterday I went and got a pedicure with my mama. She actually got a mani too but since I work outside, play in the dirt, chew my nails, and rock climb….those are pretty pointless for me. Anyway, I was watching my male manicurist go to town on my toesies, and I got to feeling kinda guilty. Granted, I am paying him and tipping him and all that, but he full-on has to stare and/or touch feet all day. And some of them are much worse than mine, I’m sure. Anyway, the guilt got to be pretty bad by the time I was done. Will I ever be able to enjoy a pedicure again?!! AGH!!!

(Yes, I chose bright pink. It reminds me that summer is in the air!!)

The other thing about my feet that is kinda becoming a problem is that I am developing a bunion. Yes, a bunion and I am only 29 years old! Annoying, right?! It’s not super bad yet, but the skin definitely stays red and inflamed in that area and it hurts like hell when I go on runs any longer than 5 or 6 miles. (If I wear my Vibrams, it doesn’t bother me but my calves can’t handle those long distances just yet!) Why do these things happen?! My mom had them as well and had to get them surgically removed, so I’ve been told it could be genetic. I’ve also been told that it could be a result of being a ballerina for all those years and pushing my feet into toe shoes.

Very possible. It’s not like I wear high heels all the time!! Regardless, it’s annoying and makes me feel like an 80-year old! And no me gusta mucho when it hurts 🙁

“suck it up and scratch your back or something”….lol, that’s hallarious. At least you can run that long before you start hurting! I run a mile or two and my knees grinding togethe bring me to the ground. It makes me sad to feel 80 too.
