Life in Thailand is Good

Um, yeah, that about sums it up! Got to Thailand a few days ago, and so far, I love it. We flew straight down south to the beach area, and it is beautiful. We are currently on Phuket, an island on the west side of the country, and I have definitely enjoyed laying around on the beach….although I will admit to getting a little pink today! The water is aqua, the sand is white, and the beach is fairly deserted…..what more can you ask for?

My parents and I went for a run yesterday morning and I about died of heat exhaustion. Seriously! It was eight in the morning and already a million degrees, and it probably didn’t help that we were kinda running down the main road on the island…..but whatever, I figure it is a good way to see the country! I guess my mom even had a tuk tuk (a bike taxi thing) stop for her and see if she needed a ride….talk about friendly!

Got to the beach this morning, and there were two elephants! Two guys had just given an elephant show or something and they were walking the big guys back to their homes, and so we got to stop and play with them for a little bit. They were so cute!!! I want an elephant now! He told it to give me a hug and it wrapped its trunk around my neck and kept kissing the side of my face! Awwww! And then it did high five where it tapped its trunk against my hand five times….seriously the cutest thing ever! Who wants to buy me one? I’ll put it in the backyard with Talley!

Heading out to do some tour tomorrow of the bay and James Bond Island or something….apparently one of the Bond movies was filmed here, but since I have never seen one and know absolutely nothing about James Bond (other than I love Sean Connery) I don’t know what the deal is. Elephant trekking is involved, however, and since I need to learn how to take care of my future pet, that should be fun!!!
