I swung by Big Horn on Monday and after the workout, a few of us were hanging out and chatting. While I was foam rolling, Coach Kane walked over to me and asked a question that really got me thinking: “So, is this your life? Running around and playing outside?!”
I laughed and admitted that as of late, things had been pretty hectic. But, as I drove home, I started thinking about my current state a bit more, and even sent Will a text that said, “You know, we are pretty lucky.”
Because y’all, things have been absurd lately, but completely in a good way. I’ve tried my best to keep you guys posted, but in case I’ve been hard to follow, here has what has been happening:
December 26 & 27: Friends Came to Town
December 29-January 5: Grand Tetons & Yellowstone
January 8-11: Park City for the OmniGames
January 18-19: Winter Backpacking with Sierra Trading Post {Stories to Come!}
Yesterday-this Sunday: Back in Salt Lake City for Outdoor Retailer
To top it all off, guess what else? Caleb and I won the trip to Jordan! Columbia announced the top five winners on Monday night and we were psyched to learn that #OmniTeam5 had worked our way up the ladder to finish in second, securing our spot in the fifth season of the OmniTen program. {For those of you that don’t know, the Spring, 2014 OmniTen is comprised of the five winning teams from the OmniGames…so yes, I get to be an OmniTen member twice.}
After this all shook out on Monday, I sat down on my couch, processing everything. It was then that I thought back to what Kane had asked me that morning: Is this really my life? I don’t need anyone to tell me how flipping lucky I am; trust me, I get it! It’s just hard to comprehend sometimes. In fact, I don’t even know how this happened. However, I do know that I am more than happy to enjoy the ride!
Once again, I’m going to be MIA while at OR since I am jam packed with appointments today through Friday. However, my life gets back to normal next week so we’ll return to regularly scheduled programming. Have a great week!

You are right, you are lucky
Instead of using words like hectic and absurd, instead use grateful, blessed, privileged, and fortunate.
Hey Kristine,
It sounds like maybe you misunderstood me–as I mentioned more than once, I feel beyond fortunate to be experiencing so many of these opportunities. However, that doesn’t mean life can’t be hectic(or at least I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive.)
Congrats on winning! I’ll admit I’m super jealous!
Huge congrats! Can’t wait to read about that Jordan trip!
Congrats on all the awesome things, enjoy all of this!
