Monday’s Mental Musings

Hey y’all! I’m back, and yes, Will and I survived Capitol Peak. In a nutshell?

The Bad: We didn’t summit

The Good: We both safely crossed the Knife Edge twice

The Bad: My GoPro battery died in the cold so I only have one small iPhone video!

Will crossing the Knife Edge

Naturally, I have tons of stories to share with y’all but it’s going to take a few days. We got back to Denver late last night and per usual, Will’s photos are far better than my iPhone snaps. He needs a little bit of time to work his photog magic but once he is done, I promise I will get the stories up on the blog! Opinion Question: Would you rather have the entire four day trip crammed into one massive post? Or do you prefer that I split it up? I planned on splitting it into two different posts, but who knows…..don’t want to bore y’all to tears if you aren’t interested! I’d really like to know your thoughts!

I meant to tell y’all this fun fact last week but alas….I suck. I completely forgot! Remember how I mentioned that I was doing some work with Active Junky on a women’s specific backpacking gear guide? Well, it’s officially live and online! I got the opportunity to act as one of the contributing editors for the gear guide, and while it was a fair bit of work, I loved every second. Some of the gear has become my go-to favorites, and I feel really fortunate to have been a part of the whole thing. If you’re a gal (or looking to purchasing female gear), definitely check it out….and let me know which dozen reviews you think are mine!

Here’s a hint!

Um…..I may have registered for a marathon. Not a half, a full. Oh. Shit.

Thoughts on the trip reports? Do you prefer a brief summary in one long post or more photos and details spread out over a few days?

    That trip sounds amazing!

Personally, I’m a bit ADD when it comes to reading so I’d probably do better with them broken up. 🙂 But that’s just me.

oh man, that ridge looks SCARY! you’re my hero(ine) 🙂 I’d rather see them broken up too…I have trouble with long trip reports, especially if it’s a place I don’t know well and can’t identify with. can’t wait to see Will’s photos…pictures are the best parts of TRs!

I would like it broken up also. My husband and I watched the Knife Edge video you suggested we watch and our stomachs were in our throats the whole time! Crossing it twice…well never mind the summit for now we are duly impressed already! Can’t wait for your trip report and photos!

I, of course, say split posts, which gives more room for little details that make a post special…but you know I’m a wordy gal 🙂
