Just a Colorado Gal

My dog is destroying my house

Nothing like going away and hear that your puppy is back home, destroying your house. Oy vey, anyone have any suggestions?
Chiang Mai (I finally figured out how to spell that, by the way!) is awesome. We spent all yesterday going around, looking at the wats, and then checking out the local industries like umbrella making, lacquerware, and of course, silk. The umbrella painting was cool, especially since the artist was a transvestite. As embarrassing as this is for me, I am amazed by the transvestites down here cause they are everywhere! You see all these beatiful women (not always, but seriously, most of the time!) and then they open their mouths and you’re like, oh, shit, not a woman! Or I saw the feet one time and they were big and hairy like Frodo….not a woman, but you sure could’ve fooled me!
Another strange thing about down here: Europeans and other travelers seriously hire young Thai girls as companions all the time, and it is kind of nauseating. We keep seeing all these old men with like 15 year old girls, and it is gross…we even saw one guy wave money at the girl, and it made me so sad for her. Bleh
Going on another tour tomorrow–a little bit of elephant trekking in the mountains, and then we are checking out the Karen long neck and big ear tribes. They are the ones that wear those gold neck bands that stretch their necks wicked long….I’m kinda excited because it should, at the least, be pretty unique!
