Book nerd strikes again!
I’ve talked about it a zillion times on this blog: I absolutely love to read. To be honest, it doesn’t really matter what it is (although these days, I’m a little anti-textbook!); if it’s a book and it’s mildly entertaining, I’ll give it a whirl.
I got myself started on a book buying spree a few weeks back when I was circling through various airports on my trips to Portland, ME and Portland, OR. Nothing like a 6 hour layover + delay in ATL to make you go crazy buying books! While there, I purchased both Wicked and the first book of the Percy Jackson series. Although I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of Wicked, I really LOVED the Percy Jackson book and finished it in one night. I’m not a snob: I’ll read teen lit books any day! (And yes, I love Harry Potter and the Twilight books–no shame here!)
Anyway, after flying through both of those books, I hopped on my fave book-buying website, Half.com, and bought a couple more. The first one came in the mail yesterday and I am SO looking forward to curling up tonight and reading with Tals 🙂
What did I get? Glad you asked!
1. Ultra Marathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner by Dean Karnazes
2. Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris (the 9th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series) For those of you who don’t know, it’s the series of books that the HBO tv show Trueblood is based on. I love the books AND the show!
3. Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris (the 10th book of the series).
4. The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (2nd book in the Percy Jackson series)
5. The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan (3rd book in the Percy Jackson series)
I started in on Ultra Marathon Man last night, so I’ll let you know what I think.
How about you? Any recommendations for what I should add to my must-read list???
