Never Fear, I’ve Returned

Hey y’all!

I know, I more or less disappeared from the radar for the past week or so but I swear, I have a good reason. I’ll explain.

First of all, the internet issue was A PAIN!! I kept trying to call Comcast but the wait was so long that I never had the free time to sit down and hold…. and hold…. and hold. I FINALLY got through to them on Saturday afternoon and guess what? My internet is fine…. my router was shot. Swear. Who breaks a router?! I’ve only had mine for 2.5 years which I think is a little absurd, but whatever. I bought a new one this morning, managed to hook it up all by myself, and look at this– I’m up and running!

Are you supposed to throw electronics away?

Secondly, I got sick on Friday… like fever, chills, the whole basket of goodness. In short, it sucked. I think the stress of life caught up with me and I crashed hard. I still don’t feel amazing today and have a pounding headache, but it’s better than it was. Sigh. I eat right, take my vitamins, and exercise…. so how is this fair? The sad part is that I was invited to a blogger tour of the new Health and Wellness Center at the CU Anschutz campus on Friday night, and I was really excited to go. Alas, I remained parked on the couch while everyone else toured the Center… sniffle, sniffle.

Feel sorry for me yet?!

Ok, cause I have one more thing that will really do it for you! Remember back in July when I had to replace the air compressor in my car for two grand? I took my car in this morning for a weird tapping and sure enough, the really expensive air compressor is broken… six months after I replaced it. I’m assuming the mechanic will warranty it and replace it for free, but if they don’t, you better believe I am going to stage a rebellion!!!

On the bright side, the entire weekend wasn’t a bust. Sure, I felt like crap, skipped my long run, and accomplished approximately nothing on my thesis, but I did get to help my mom with this exciting endeavor:

Isis
Tally

Um, yes, we humiliate the animals in our family 🙂 Every year, our town does a dog Easter Egg Hunt and Bonnet Contest and my mom enters Isis. She is the most mellow husky you’ve ever met and now that she is super old, everyone just loves her. Seriously, you can’t walk that dog ANYWHERE without at least 5 people coming up to pet her. Needless to say, she really doesn’t mind wearing the bonnet, so we took her to the contest and egg hunt. (No, Tals isn’t behaved enough to go: I truly just tied on the bonnet to torture my dog. What, is that wrong?!) Isis didn’t win the contest this year (she did last year!) but she managed to clean up a major amount of dog treats, as well as made about 500 new friends. It was ridiculous and awesome all at the same time.

********************
How was your weekend?

Do you dress your dog up in costumes (whether for holidays, cold weather, whatever?)
Tally hates it so I could never put her in a sweater or something… I think she’d bite me 🙂 The only reason we got her in this bonnet was because my mom did it, and Tally will let Grandma do anything!

Ugh. Sick here too. So sick I even went to the ER for dehydration. No fun, so I fell ya on that! Here’s to a quick recovery for the both of us. And your car too?! Grr. Good luck with that! PS love the bonnets. Too cute!

How did Isis NOT win the bonnett contest! I demand a recount!

Sorry you’ve been sick! I hope you feel all better tomorrow 🙂

OMG! I feel sorry for the dogs. LOL. (cute). Sorry to hear you had to miss the tour due to ill health. that would have been a cool tour. and yes… i feel sorry for you.
And they better cover the warranty. You’d see me rustling up some massive rebellion, if it was my car and they didn’t cover it.

glad to see your window to the world is once again working. but sometimes, the break is nice and needed.

Isis looks like my Kiara! She’s super mellow, too. I have never put a bonnet on her but sometimes during football season we make her wear an Oregon Ducks shirt – especially when we play against the Huskies!

awww friend! glad to hear you are feeling better. that dog event sounds so amazing. my dogs would definitely not be behaved enough to go but any time i can give them a payback by forcing them to wear funny clothes is a good day in my book 😉 haha!

I really wanted to dress up Zeek, my parents’ 100 lb. boxer, but we had a feeling he would clear out the ENTIRE dog area… probably wouldn’t be okay!

If it makes you feel better, I didn’t accomplish anything on my thesis this weekend either and I wasn’t even sick! Sorry to hear you feel poorly, get better… On a different note, I think you stole my dogs. Seriously, your Isis and Tally look a scary amount like my Kensington and Lexie! Just check my Twitter images @running_bj

OMG!!!! I had the SAME ac compressor issue last year! mine blew out and shortly after it was ‘fixed’, it was making the same noise again. Faulty part so I had to pay to have the WHOLE thing done again (I opted to go the route where I supply the part so it wasn’t under repair shop’s warrantee.

Glad you’re feeling better – The tour was super cool – you’ll have to come down and check it out sometime!

And please, keep dressing your dog up and posting photos – so good 🙂

I so hope that isn’t the case! If I have to pay another couple grand I’m seriously going to do something drastic… not sure what, but it’ll be big!

Sorry about your sickliness!! Sometimes it just happens, no matter how awesome we are!

It seems like once something like that breaks on your car, it’s always an issue. We replaced Patrick’s air conditioner 3 times on the ol’ camero, and it still never worked right. Stinks.

You know I love to dress up my dogs!! Those bonnet pics are cute!

P.S. Places like Best Buy have bins at the entrance for electronic recycling. I can’t believe the woman that got on to me for using K-cups for coffee didn’t know this!!!

Ah man! Sorry about the internet, car and being sick 🙁 I took my car in today and I feel the same way about it. It has been broken a lot this year and I am going crazy and sick of paying for it!

On a happier note your pup is adorable. I don’t dress mine up, I should but I am just too lazy I guess. Haha

OOh my goodness, Isis and Tally are ADORABLE. Those photos just made my day.

Oh and I thought about you again today…I literally cried on the phone to comcast. I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes. Soooo frustrating but somehow it all worked out in the end. But the experience still left such a sour taste in my mouth about comast!

UGH. I feel the pain of having to phone Comcast….I don’t think I’d wish that upon anyone!

Agghhh…technical difficulties! No fun! Love the photos of the pups in Easter bonnets. Very cute.

Ironically, I typed a whole comment, and our stupid slow ass router pooped out again and it never posted. Being sick sucks, sorry about the car too!

car issues always drive me batty. i guess because they are so expensive!!

i would love to dress up our cats, but there is no way they would have that!

Both Sasha and Lucky have their moments where I could put whatever I wanted to on them but then they both have moments where they can barely handle a collar!
