I know, I more or less disappeared from the radar for the past week or so but I swear, I have a good reason. I’ll explain.
First of all, the internet issue was A PAIN!! I kept trying to call Comcast but the wait was so long that I never had the free time to sit down and hold…. and hold…. and hold. I FINALLY got through to them on Saturday afternoon and guess what? My internet is fine…. my router was shot. Swear. Who breaks a router?! I’ve only had mine for 2.5 years which I think is a little absurd, but whatever. I bought a new one this morning, managed to hook it up all by myself, and look at this– I’m up and running!

Secondly, I got sick on Friday… like fever, chills, the whole basket of goodness. In short, it sucked. I think the stress of life caught up with me and I crashed hard. I still don’t feel amazing today and have a pounding headache, but it’s better than it was. Sigh. I eat right, take my vitamins, and exercise…. so how is this fair? The sad part is that I was invited to a blogger tour of the new Health and Wellness Center at the CU Anschutz campus on Friday night, and I was really excited to go. Alas, I remained parked on the couch while everyone else toured the Center… sniffle, sniffle.
Feel sorry for me yet?!
Ok, cause I have one more thing that will really do it for you! Remember back in July when I had to replace the air compressor in my car for two grand? I took my car in this morning for a weird tapping and sure enough, the really expensive air compressor is broken… six months after I replaced it. I’m assuming the mechanic will warranty it and replace it for free, but if they don’t, you better believe I am going to stage a rebellion!!!
On the bright side, the entire weekend wasn’t a bust. Sure, I felt like crap, skipped my long run, and accomplished approximately nothing on my thesis, but I did get to help my mom with this exciting endeavor:
| Isis |
| Tally |
Um, yes, we humiliate the animals in our family 🙂 Every year, our town does a dog Easter Egg Hunt and Bonnet Contest and my mom enters Isis. She is the most mellow husky you’ve ever met and now that she is super old, everyone just loves her. Seriously, you can’t walk that dog ANYWHERE without at least 5 people coming up to pet her. Needless to say, she really doesn’t mind wearing the bonnet, so we took her to the contest and egg hunt. (No, Tals isn’t behaved enough to go: I truly just tied on the bonnet to torture my dog. What, is that wrong?!) Isis didn’t win the contest this year (she did last year!) but she managed to clean up a major amount of dog treats, as well as made about 500 new friends. It was ridiculous and awesome all at the same time.
