Geeeeeez, I think old age is settling into my bones!! After all, don’t older people typically throw their backs out?!! Ahhhh! A few weeks back when I was moving, I made the dreaded mistake of “lifting with my back” instead of my legs. Of course I know this was wrong, but obviously it wasn’t my intention! I didn’t have anyone to help with the heavier boxes but I really wanted to get them out of Brandy’s house….anyway! I kinda hurt my back a bit but wasn’t too worried and the pain went away in a few days. No biggie. On to more unfortunate luck, the last week or 10 days has been so crazy that I haven’t really gotten in any GOOD workouts. Just a bit here and there. Welp, I decided to end that this weekend and I met Cindy and Craig at the track for one of the brutal crossfit workouts that Craig is so good at inflicting upon us.
OUCH!
The workout entailed 5 1/4 mile sprints split up with various torturous activities such as crunches, lunges, burpees, etc. Rather, it was supposed to….I made it through the burpees and crunches but once I got to the bear crawl, my back freaaaaaked out! I ended up laying in the middle of the football field curled up in the fetal position. Poor Craig thought I was giving up on the workout and was shouting words of encouragement while running, but that definitely did not take the pain away. In the end, I walked around like a friggin 95-year-old, sharply gasping every time I made a sudden move. Kinda killed my plans for the rest of the day too! Could this be any more annoying? I think not! It feels better today, as long as I don’t lift anything. I’m hoping to get to yoga a few times this week and maybe that’ll work it out somehow. AGGGHH!!!
