It’s two days prior to our wedding and admittedly, I’m not quite ready.
The decorations aren’t done
I haven’t finished my centerpieces.
I need to finish painting this menu thing.
My makeup trial is actually TODAY, a whopping 48 hours prior to the ceremony {Standard Balogh!}
I still haven’t written my vows.
But even though it looks like I’m not quite ready for the ceremony, I am beyond ready to marry Will. It’s hard to believe I met this wonderful guy a mere three years ago. How did we manage to get through 30 years of existence before finding each other? It’s beyond me. He is my rock; my sanity; my best friend.
Quite a few friends have been teasing me about getting cold feet. You see, I’ve been Ms. Independent for a long time and I’m fairly sure I’m the last woman standing among my close friends {at least of those in the post-30 age bracket.} But what I can’t quite explain to everyone is that I’m not losing my independence or thirst for adventure– I’m gaining a partner to experience all of those things with me. And that’s pretty freaking fantastic.
Here’s to the next chapter!

sending best wishes! when it’s all said and done, it’s ‘just’ a wedding and at the end of the night when you’re husband and wife, the day was a success. 🙂 from a fellow independent gal, cheers to gaining a forever adventure buddy! happy wedding weekend to you both!
Aw! Don’t stress a ton about getting the little stuff done. Lynne is totally right – if by the end of the day you’re married, it’s a total success. A few years down the road, no one is going to remember your centerpieces or menus but they are going to remember how awesome it was to see you two celebrate your day.
And it kind of sounds like you know exactly what you need to say in your vows. Adventure buddies are the best. 😉 Congratulations and I cannot wait to see pictures!!!
OMG between you and Will this morning, I’m almost in tears at my desk. These posts about your relationship and bond are so beautiful. I’m ready to celebrate you both this weekend! It needs to get here already!!
PS: Everything will get done, my best friend was spray painting pine cones the night BEFORE her wedding for the centerpieces haha. It turned out amazing, as will yours.
I’m so happy for you guys. Your day will be beautiful (even if everything DOESN’T get done) and I hope that you feel absolutely surrounded by love this weekend.
Sending my love up to the Mesa this weekend. 🙂
Things will seemingly come together somehow! I remember doing so much before the wedding (preparations) that I did not get to sit down until 10pm BEFORE the wedding day to write my vows. Once you clear your mind and lock yourself in a room where you can be undisturbed (difficult with family…) the words will miraculously flow! I ended up writing about 6 index cards worth of text for my vows and memorized some of it… the words just came naturally for someone you love. Enjoy your special day and much hugs, congrats, and love to you.
…. I think you just wrote your vows!!!! Just add an “I Promise ….” and you’re golden!
Congratulations and enjoy your wedding weekend! 🙂
I’m so happy for the both of you! Even though I only see glimpses of you two over the internet, you just feel like a great match together. Big congratulations! Have a blast this weekend.
Yeah! So exciting!!!! Congrats!
Congratulations to you and Will (and Tally)!
Congratulations! Guuurrrrl tell me about it, I’m nowhere near ready, but the closer we get, the less I care about the details! (No one remembers the centerpieces, anyway, right?). I can’t wait to see photos from your day, I’m sure they’ll be as lovely and interesting as you are!
Love you both! xo
Congrats and I love your outlook on gaining an adventure partner!
So much love and congratulations to you both! The things that need to get done will, and those that don’t… no one will know but you. Enjoy your celebrations!
Congratulations! I absolutely love the sentiments about your relationship. I never understood the concept of cold feet either. What could be better than getting a buddy for life? Have a wonderful, memorable, once in a lifetime kind of weekend, and I can’t wait to see pictures 🙂
Congrats to you guys! I too am married to my best friend and it’s just magical 🙂 Best wishes to a great life together filled with adventure & love. Cheers!
I know exactly how you feel about gaining a partner to experience all your adventures with! I was always Ms. Independent as well, but when you find a partner who doesn’t steal your independence, but adds to your adventurous life, it’s the best!! Good luck to you and enjoy your wedding day!
Pre #OmniHitched congratulations! Best wishes to you and the Millstone. 🙂
