Ok, I finally figured the damn computers out so there are a few pictures…finally! I know, I’m a slow kid!
Went on a couple of dives yesterday and they were amazing! I was supposed to do some deep dives this morning but I didn’t get any sleep and so the idea of getting up at 6 this morning didn’t work out so well…oh well, at least I got to go yesterday. Anyway, didn’t see a whale shark (!) but I figure I’ll just have to wait until next time. Tons of fish in amazing colors, and the schools of little Nemo fish were the biggest I’d ever seen! I’d just lay on my back in the water and float through hundreds and hundreds of fish. It was amazing! And the coral was unbelievable too!

So, I know it has been awhile coming with the pictures, but you have to understand….it takes forever to download them! I´ve attached these five, and that´s about all the patience I have right now!
Anyway, we just got back from our trip into the Amazon, and we had a really good time. Saw lots of animals–monkeys, birds, bugs, piranhas, alligators–and really got a sense of what it is like out there. We were seriously in the middle of nowhere–like an 11 hour bus ride and a two hour boat ride from any town. Very cool. Anyway, this first picture is of this gigantic alligator we saw in the river (that we had just been swimming in)Our guide even said it was the biggest gator he´s seen in 4 years!!
The second picture is of Steve holding a baby gator. We went on a night time boat ride to look for their little red eyes, and it was pretty cool. Too bad I was too freaked out to even hold the animals!
Next picture is just of a simple sunset over the Amazon. I thought it was beautiful!
We also got to spend on day piranha fishing. Apparently, Steve and I aren´t any good at it and didn´t catch any, but our guide–Ornaz–had his nephew with us, and he caught 12, so we got to eat one for lunch too. Tasty! He gave us the teeth to take home as a souvenir, so that was pretty cool. Made me think twice about sticking my hands in the water though! Anyway, this is a picture of his nephew–one of our favorite people on the trip–holding two of the piranhas.
This last picture was actually taken a little bit ago when we were staying at the hostel in the cloud forest. I just wanted to put it on here to show how BEAUTIFUL everything is!!!
