Just a Colorado Gal

Puppy trauma and lots of beer

So, we took Tally to the vet on Thursday because she wasn’t eating, and he said that she was going to have to stay at the vet for the weekend on an IV because she was losing too much weight. Of course, I flipped out and didn’t want my baby to have to go, so I spent the night trying to get her to eat something. The vet had mentioned boiled rice, so I gave her some of the rice in my chinese food and she ate it, so I ended up giving her the rest. She even ended up eating all of my shrimp and broccoli, but it did the trick, and the next morning, she was like a whole new puppy. Poor Zeke is sick now, but she is running around like the devilish puppy that she really is–eating everything, skidding across the room, and her favorite, chewing on people’s toes….yes, toes. But look at how big she is getting!

Went to the Beer Festival in Denver last night for Whit’s birthday and had a really good time. Saw a lot of people that I hadn’t seen since I came back, and besides…you can’t really go wrong with so many great beers surrounding you! We left the festival when it closed, and the million of us headed towards a bar on the outside of Denver, only to have the bouncer say that John couldn’t come in cause he was “clearly intoxicated.” Meg, John, Chach, and I ended up going to the only other bar in the area, a gay bar, for awhile, and then headed back to LoDo where we spent the rest of the night. We finally walked back to John’s apartment only to find poor Eric curled up on the front steps, completely passed out and waiting for us to get back…..it is always something with those boys!
