Sure look like I fell off the writing wagon, doesn’t it?
In all fairness, it couldn’t be helped. In fact, was anyone else on WP affected by the cyber attack yesterday?! I couldn’t access my blog the entire day because my hosting service had it on lockdown to protect it from web bots or something. I’m glad they did what they did, but man! What the heck are web bots?!
Anyway, I did disappear for the past couple of days, and if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you already know why:
1200 miles later and Will now lives in Colorado! I didn’t make a big deal about this beforehand because there is a lot going on and I have to keep a few things private
Y’all, I have so much whirling around these days, but I promise it will all make sense eventually!
Anyway, I flew out to San Diego late on Friday night via a one-way plane ticket. After making a few last minute adjustments to the moving van and the trailer towing his car, we ready to go early on Saturday morning.
Here’s the thing: road trips always sound so romantic and full of adventure, but I’m pretty sure that only applies when you have unlimited time and zero pressure to be anywhere! Unfortunately, we had neither since I had to be back in Denver for work, and poor Will was stuck steering a 16 foot truck with a 15 foot trailer attached to the back of it. This, my friends, does not equal a low stress situation. However, I don’t want to make y’all think the trip was entirely miserable. In fact, it really was fun! The excitement of Will’s move made us both a little giddy, and we enjoyed checking out the sights of the American southwest.
We tried purchasing an audiobook to keep us entertained, but in the end, we preferred lots of music and conversation. Time together has been so rare over the past few months that we just seemed to want to talk…and talk…and talk some more! I had packed minimal clothes, so I spent the entire weekend in the same comfy road trip outfit, and Will did the same. Nothing like stretchy pants for maximum comfort!
We spent Sunday night at my parents’ mountain home so that we could catch my mama for Mother’s Day. Mom and Dad had brought Tally over to the cabin with them, so we spent the last day in the moving truck as a trio: Will, Tals, and me! I about died when I looked over and saw Tals gazing up at Will while he navigated the mountainous roads. Could this pup look any more smitten?!
In the end, we made it back to D-town around dinner time Monday night, and finally got everything sorted and put away and the truck/trailer returned a little later. It sure made for a tiring couple of days, but obviously, I’m not complaining. I mean, HOORAY! Will lives in Colorado!

What were you up to this weekend? I’ve read about a few friends PR’ing at races!

Hooray! That is big news! Tals does looks pretty smitten. Glad you had a safe trip and don’t have to do the distance thing anymore!
She was so stinking cute, I could barely handle it 🙂
aren’t dogs the best? Glad you had a safe road trip and move! (:
I love that little girl more than words can express!
Fun news! I’m happy for you. And yes, I agree about road trips–usually not so fun!
SO FUN and Im always all in favor of LIVING so we have stuff about which to blog 🙂
xo
SO EXCITING! Moves are rough but it will be so worth it! In college my BF was in the army so we drove from Houston to upstate NY once, and it was super fun! I definitely got to see stuff that I never would have otherwise. Of course, being in college, we did have unlimited time. Oh, the good old days.
That is a wicked long way! My longest trip was Portland, Maine to Denver, but again, we were moving so it was with another truck and trailer, so not exactly relaxing.
Yay! So glad you made it safe and sound!!
Welcome home! Both of you… 🙂
Driving a moving truck long distances sucks, and I didn’t have to pull a car behind! Those seats are so darn uncomfortable!
I was pretty ok with the seats, but I think it was because I could move all over and prop my feet everywhere 🙂 Poor Will’s back was seriously suffering after the third day!
Yay for roadtrips with the SO! Welcome home!!
Thank you! 🙂
Hollaaa! Love the photo of your pup and your man – too cute! 🙂
That man must love you a lot to leave San Diego! *wink wink* glad y’all made it safe and sound. I love a solid roadtrip even though we NEVER have exploring time from point A to point B. Ehat an adorable picture of Tally and Will. I bet she’s excited about another potential running partner!
Yay! THis is so exciting! And road trips are a lot less fun with a deadline, but still my favorite way to travel 🙂 Glad the trip wasn’t too bad!
Woop woop woop! Welcome to your new home, Will! I remember when Weez and I made the big move in together 🙂 What a fun (and crazy) time! Cheers!
Yay! That must be so awesome after long distance for a while. LOVE Arizona!
Congrats!! Hope all your moving is done it really is a pain!
Tals is so stinkin cute! So exciting that you both are in the same state. Being together is so much better!
I came across your blog today and cannot stop reading about your fun adventures. I was SOOOO excited to see that Will made his move in a Penske truck because that’s who I work for!! I hope the move went well because of it. Thanks for the wonderful photo with free advertising!
Ha, random! Well, the truck worked great so I’m happy to put it out there!
