I talk about a few friends a lot on my blog (yes, I swear, I do have friends!) because they are typically my partners in crime: we go to the gym, go running, hiking, camping, climbing, mountain biking, etc. together. It’s great having such outdoor and active friends because it ensures that someone is almost always ready to accompany on my latest crazy adventure. Case in point? My friend Craig.
You’ve probably seen Craig a few times on my blog since he is the boyfriend of a good friend, as well as an eager participant in most (if not all) of the races we do. You might remember him for being the super unfortunate lucky guy that got complete the Tough Mudder with all of us girls. He really enjoyed it, I swear.
Awhile back, Craig got a great idea for a commercial for the new Ford Explorer. Being the bright-eyed and bushy tailed go-getter that he is (and I know he will appreciate that definition!), he submitted his idea to Ford for their latest contest…..and won! As a result, Ford flew him out to the Sierra Nevadas last month to do some mountain climbing with a phenomenal pro climber and an ex-gang member (it will all make sense when you watch the video, I swear!) I was so insanely jealous of his opportunity, and was so excited to hear his stories when he came back from the trip.
Check out the video:
How freaking cool is that?! Seriously. Craig hasn’t been in love with outdoor climbing, but here’s to hoping that this gets him out on the rock with me this summer!!

Wanna know what else is cool? I won a pair of running shoes! Swear. The Boring Runner had a giveaway awhile back in honor of his 1000th post. Two lucky winners get a pair of Brooks running shoes, and I happened to be one of the two! Even better? I LOVE Brooks running shoes! This news serious made my day!!!

I ventured in to a yoga class yesterday morning for the first time in what seems like forever. I gotta tell you–not having to work is doing wonders for workout schedule and HBBC points! So much easier to fit in when you have all day long to get it done!
At first, I wasn’t so sure about the instructor because she was a little chatty. She even spent the first 5 minutes of class talking about all of this yoga stuff and using terms that no one understood. Didn’t start out as a win for me, but my shoulders and back are sore today so she must have done something awesome. Every time I get into yoga, I remember how much I love it. Hopefully this 3 months work reprieve will allow me to get to class more often!!
PS Be super excited for another really awesome giveaway this week!
What’s the best thing you’ve won from a blogger giveaway?
Yoga: yay or nay?
What did you think of Craig’s trip? Did it look exciting and fun or too out of your comfort zone?
