Showing Some Garmin Love

I woke up all excited yesterday because I was going to FINALLY get to use my new Garmin! It was seriously like Christmas, only sunny and 65 degrees. My plan was to take Tals to this open space dog park, tire her out, and then come back and run in the afternoon after I got all my billing and payroll stuff done for work.

What’s that about even the best laid plans go astray?

Fail. It didn’t happen. Well, I did get to take Tals out and luckily, I took my Garmin there just to mess around with it. But then a flipping wind storm blew in this afternoon with ridiculously high wind gusts so my run never happened because I didn’t want to get blown to Kansas. So unfortunately, all I have to show my Garmin love is this:

 And this:

Yup, clearly Tals and I went for a nice, long 1.33 mile stroll. Can you see how fast the two of us walk?! Sigh. I WILL be taking it out for a REAL run tomorrow, rain or shine! I don’t even care if it ends up snowing here….it’s going to happen!!

On the bright side, I did get a million more clothes for my expanding closet! Since my sis is leaving, she is getting rid of tons of clothes (particularly her winter clothing) cause let’s face it: sweaters do NOT belong in Hawaii. It’s been pretty spectacular cause she has great taste and I seriously think I’ve acquired upwards of 10-15 new shirts. I’m like a kid in a candy store!

In other, more awesome news, guess what is happening RIGHT NOW in Winter Park?

I keep reading on everyone else’s blogs how sad they are about the snow; not me! You see, I love to ski, and I don’t even mind working out in the cold. Sure, it makes it a bit more tricky, but when the snow starts falling, I just take Tals and go snowshoeing. Same motions as running, and I actually think it’s even a bit tougher. Great cross training! Plus, I originally wasn’t going to be able to ski a lot this winter because of school, but since things have changed, I still get my season pass 🙂 So bring on the snow!!

Do you like to go clothes shopping?

Do you like cross training???

What are you doing this weekend?

Glad I’m not the only one doing a little happy dance because of the snow! I am so pumped! As a new Colorado-ian{?} this is the first time I’ve had winter weather so early…I’m in love!

I’ve also added a bunch of “must have” winter wear to my wish list.

I’m sad about the snow here because it’s going to be so long before there is enough snow for fun snow activities!

My dream was that it would be beautiful, sunny and crisp up until the week before the ski resorts opened, and then it would snow 6 feet in 4 days.

Free clothes are the best! I miss having a roommate my same size.

Your sister is moving to hawaii?! Oh gosh I’m jealous I’ve always wanted to go there.

And snow for you already? Wow…don’t freeze! I guess it is like your Garmin Christmas after all.

    Have a great weekend!!!

I can attest the wind was miserable yesterday but today was so nice, I hope you were able to get out and use the new Garmin! Lots of snow on the mountains today….so pretty! Happy Weekend!

Hey! I love clothes shopping! i’ve only really developed a love for it again recently after a long battle with anorexia. My ED definitely zapped my passion for fashion…..but now it’s back in true form!
