The Panerathon 5k/10k Entry Giveaway!

Happy Labor Day everyone! I’m out and about, enjoying the long weekend, but I wanted to quickly pop in to share a lil’ love on this glorious Monday: an entry to the Panerathon 5k/10k race!

According to the website, here’s the details:

Join Panera Bread on Sunday, September 16th for the the 6th annual Panerathon 5K & 10K to Fight Hunger. This will be an exciting event for participants of all ages and includes a family-oriented expo, free Kids Fun Run (led by the Westminster Fire Fighters & Colorado Rapids mascot!), and 5K & 10K race winding through the Westminster Trail System. Enjoy the best post-race food around– freshly baked bagels, pastries, & sandwiches! All proceeds benefit Food Bank of the Rockies.

I have to admit that I’m a bit jealous of whoever wins this giveaway! I’m already committed to another 5k that day (that I may or may not be running because of my knee anyway!), but the Westminster Trail System is one of my favorite networks to run on. I was doing a lot of my marathon training on those trails and they are great because they extend throughout the entire Denver metro area!

Anyway, I’m assuming you don’t care about why I like the trail you may be running on; you just want to know how you can win an entry, right?!

One reader will win an entry to either the 5K or the 10K race by leaving a comment below, telling me what your favorite distance to race is and why. That’s it!

For a bonus entry, tweet something about this giveaway (be sure to include my handle, @AColoradoGal, so I can check it out!), and then come back to tell me that you did.

Contest will be open until Thursday, September 6. Winner will be notified on Friday, September 7th. Good luck!

I love racing at a 5k distance… it’s enough to challenge and push me, but I’m not so wiped out afterwards that I feel like my whole day is spent in recovery!

My favorite distance is the marathon. It is so challenging but when completed you feel so accomplished.

    Thanks for hosting!

hello! sorry to hear this injury isn’t getting better QUICKER. i know all too well how you feel!

finally had my longest run in a month yesterday.. FIVE MILES! it’s amazing how injuries can put SO much into perspective for us.

i wish i could say the MARATHON was my favorite distance, because i LOVE running long. however, i’ve only run two. my first, portland, was INCREDIBLE. i was able to fall back && trust my training. i couldn’t have asked for a better first marathon. my second marathon i cranked out with sheer LUCK. training did NOT go as planned. plagued with injury & 2 upper respiratory infections!

that being said i’m going to have to go with the 1/2 marathon distance as being my favorite! what i love is they aren’t CRAZY fast… but fast enough. not CRAZY long… but long enough!

i’m probably the worst at 10k’s & 5k’s! all the more reason to try to run a couple more, right?! if i won the giveaway i’d probably run the 5k!

I like the 10k length because it gives me a challenge but doesn’t require as much training as a half or full marathon.

I love the 10K and the marathon! Marathon is so emotionally taxing but totally worth the feeling at the end.

Omg I would LOVElovelove to win this sweet giveaway! My fave distance to race is the 5K. Short and sweet (and painful)(but not as painful as a marathon!). I love training for speed and track workouts and also hittin’ up the long runs on the weekend. Kinda the best of both worlds. I promise if I win this giveaway, I’ll race the hell out of this. I’m in decent shape right now too… so who knows… maybe a PR?? 🙂

These days I am loving the 5K distance because my pregnant body is too unpredictable on longer courses.

Right now my favorite is the 10K…challenging, but I still get to be fast. 🙂

my favorite is half marathons. I prefer long distance running, but marathon training can be kind of life consuming. Halfs are the best for balance!

10K for sure. While almost anyone can get off the couch and finish a 5K, the 10K takes a bit more training and dedication–but it’s not life-consuming.

Also sometimes people confuse 10K with 10 miles and think I am more badass than I actually am.
