You know what word I hate? Vlog. Something about it seems wrong, or weird. I know that makes absolutely no sense, but just throwing it out there, especially considering the following irony!
So yes, I made a vlog this morning, although I’m just now getting around to sharing it with y’all. I had to get up wicked early to get a run in before work, and I chose to drive to the office and run there before everyone else came in. As I was running along, my 6am stupor started thinking that I should video my face talking to you. Yes, a vlog.
Clearly we know where this train wreck is going!
Actually, I am not sure that any words are needed, nor will they do this mess of a video justice. Just watch it.
Between sweat in my eyeballs and the fact that I don’t know which way is up on my iPhone, I am just a hot mess. Just be glad I cut off that back half so you weren’t subjected to more upside-down goodness. Happy Wednesday, my friends! 🙂

I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that has reached out to me thus far on behalf of my
Haiti trip. I truly appreciate your support more than words can express. If you mentioned in the comments yesterday that you had something to donate, please shoot me an email. I’ll do a post next week about further details, but in the meantime, I think my email is the best way to communicate. Not sure I need to be giving my address out to y’all on the internets 🙂

Truth time: how do you feel about vlogs? Do you watch them in posts or skip right over them?
For me, it depends: one of my laptops has a broken sound card, so when I’m using that one, I obviously skip right past the video.

Oh my goodness. I love you so very much and am so happy you did this. xo
I loved your video! Too much fun.
I like vlogs if they are short and sweet. Over 5 min. and I’m done lol
I have done a few myself but prefer not to (more because of the technical stuff).
Gotta go read about your trip.
I have a short attnetion span for vlogs, I will watch them for 3 or 4 minutes tops. I haven’t done any myself yet, I keep thinking I should but then I am too lazy. I did watch yours though and you are so cute! even with all the sweat.
Just went and read about your trip, that sounds really amazing! Good luck!
Thank you!
hahahaha. You are such a hot mess with that whole upside down thing!!
This time of year, I always have sweat in my eyeballs!! I hate it!
My eyes were freaking burning when I was filming this!!! No bueno!
Great job! Still trying to get over myself enough to vlog, so kudos to you and your hot mess. 😉
You’re too cute! I don’t like vlogging either but good for you for doing one! I like videos as well, but anything over 5-7 mins and I start to zone out too unless it has a unique hook or story.
You are so cute and the upside down part is hilarious!
Vlog certainly hasn’t caught on as well as Blog has!
That is because it sounds like a disease or something I think.
HAHAHA!!! That was so funny! Thank you for sharing!!!
haha love your vlog! I feel somewhat similarly to you about vlogging. I haven’t done it yet myself, but I love hearing from other bloggers so I might have to make my own soon!
I’ll only watch vlogs if they are short. If I hit play and see “12 minutes” I just say “Oh hell no” and go onto something else 🙂
Ditto! I think 2-3 minutes is my max!
Love it! Real is best if you ask me. Over edit and looks like you are trying to be someone you are not. 😉
Luckily, I don’t know how to edit, let alone over-edit, so I think I’m good in that department 🙂
I like vlogs that are short & sweet. it is always nice to put a voice with a blog!
I’m about 50/50 on watching vlogs, but the lead up to yours got me to watch! Love the upside down footage… you may just start a trend 😉 Oh, and I just read about your Haiti trip and definitely have some running gear that I can donate, so I’ll email you.
I usually don’t ever watch if it’s more than a minute, and sometimes still not if it’s under. That said, I actually watched yours and it’s adorable! I love meeting bloggers in real life and seeing how they compare to their online personas.
Awesome vlog! I will have to try it. I think it is so nerve wracking just to put pictures up let alone do a video. Way to go!
After that crazy description of course I had to watch it. Anything 2ish minutes or so I watch, after that I cut off.
That was hilarious. It is nice to put a face and voice with all the writing!
I absolutely love the fact you showed the trail upside down! You are hilarious!
I don’t do well with vlogs – I either have to have headphones on or be at home without Chris around to make fun of me. Neither happens very often so I forget to listen and then life goes on and I’m uninformed. Sad. Or not.
That’s a cool trail! Will have to try it out sometime. 😉 Buahahaha! Nice.
I hate vlogs too and usually skip them….but I clicked on yours just cuz I wanted to hear what your sweet voice sounded like :).
We watch a LOT of vlogs. Guess we have to being youtubers. You’re being to self-critical, this is an excellent start! You kept talking and kept moving through the subjects you wanted to cover, which is exactly what you gotta do. Did you use the front-facing or the regular camera on your phone? Hit us up if you want to know about some of the vloggers we follow. And let us know if you know of more that do outdoor type stuff, because we have had a hard time finding people like the ATQA crew on youtube.
Thanks for the support 🙂 I don’t know too many outdoors people that vlog actually…probably because we’re all too busy playing! I do think it can be a good way to show readers the environment though, so I’m gonna try to bust out video more often.
