Trail Building and Ten Years

That’s seriously what my day consisted of yesterday–very busy and very random! Started off abruptly cause my alarm didn’t go off and I was supposed to meet LA at the dino lots in Morrison at 7:30. Luckily, I naturally get up early but 6:45 was kind of pushing it! At any rate, I made it there on time and we headed up to WP to do some trail building and brush clearing for the day. As I have mentioned before, I volunteer at NSCD. In the winter, I teach skiing, and in the summer I help out wherever I can–thus far it has been via rock climbing. They also have this campground and hiking trail they use for their wheelchair kiddos that are totally accessible and adaptable. However, with all the pine beetle kill from last year, it was in serious need of repair. Soooo, a bunch of volunteer went up yesterday morning to get the area back in shape before the kids start coming in a few weeks.

It was great and LA and I really had a good time. I do, however, have lots of litte red marks and scratches all over my arms from carrying the logs. Knowing that I was wearing a strapless dress to my 10 year reunion last night made me laugh as I looked at all of the welts…..sure was going to look great with the dress!

And yes, I had my 10 year high school reunion last night! Crazy to think it has been 10 years! Some faces were great to see, others not so much, but it was a total trip nonetheless. Lots of people are married and with children, of course, but most seem very happy. Most people had something to say about all the traveling and adventure sports that I’ve done…one person even said I inspired him to get out and do stuff 🙂 Flattering!!
