That’s right, you can now easily stalk me on my way to Portland. I’ll be in seat 16D if you need me 🙂 ANYWAY, my lil’ sis is graduating from PA school in August and so of course, I’m flying out to be there! I actually missed her undergrad graduation from CSU because I was in S. America, so there is no way I would miss this one. It’s just a 4 day weekend, but that’s plenty considering that it’s only a 2-hr flight. And she already promised to take me to VooDoo donuts….
What are my other vacations, you ask? Ok, I’ll tell you! The first one is also in August, and this one is ACROSS the country in Portland, Maine! Ironically, it’s the weekend before my sis’s graduation, so I’ll be on both coasts within the span of 7 days. Crazy.

My cousin is getting married in Yarmouth, and I’m very excited to see her again, as well as meet her girlfriend. For those of you that don’t know, I actually used to live in Maine years and years ago, so this will be like an extra special trip. I’m excited to go back and see it after all of these years. Of course, if one vacation doesn’t fit, this will be the one to go, but I’m pretty confident I’m gonna fit it in there!
Vacation #3: Another bike touring trip! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Ok, so years ago, I spent a few months and rode my bike across the country. In fact, that’s how this whole blog got started (I know, ridiculous right? How the hell did I turn it into my random rants like it is today?!) Anyway, my friends Cindy and Craig are thinking about doing a few-day bike touring trip through part of the Pacific Crest Trail, and they asked if I would join them since I’ve done the touring thing before. Are you crazy?! Of course I will!! We’re looking at going over Labor Day weekend, and obviously we can’t tour the entire trail in a few days, so we’ll just do a part of it. I’m hoping we do a portion in Northern California so that we can ride through this:

I’ve been to see the redwoods before when I was younger with my family, but it’s been a long time. I remember how completely awestruck I was by their size, so I’d be pretty pumped to cycle through them. Of course, a lot of this is gonna depend on where it’s easy to ship our bikes to, fly in and out of, etc., so we’ll see. But I am VERY excited to do another mini-tour!!
And for my last vacation…..drum roll……..Bozeman! Yes, this is for another wedding (I have FIVE this summer!) but I am very excited cause I love Montana and it will be beautiful! The wedding is the last weekend in September, and Angel and I are going to road trip it up that directions. We’ll spend two days wandering around Bozeman and doing all of the wedding stuff, of course. After the wedding on Friday night, I think we’re planning to get up early Saturday morning and head into the mountains for 24 hours of camping. We have to drive back to Denver on Sunday, but we figured it would still be nice to get out of the city for just a bit. Besides, how can you pass up camping here?

That sounds super duper exciting! You have so many! I would love to plan some sort of bike/camping trip, but wouldn’t know where to even begin….or bring! We camped a weekend in Big Bear and mountain biked while we were there and it was so amazing. I want to do something like that again…..soon. We are going to New Orleans next weekend and LA in July. I can’t wait to step foot on that Pacific coast again. It’s so wonderful there.
You could always visit Denver…just saying! I’ll take you mountain biking! 🙂
Voodoo Doughnuts = best. place. ever.
I’ll be in Portland in just over a month and I can’t WAIT to go back to Voodoo!
Oh, and if you dig tasty vegetarian food you should check out this restaurant called Bay Leaf while you’re in Portland… their food is amazing and the tea they brew is wonderful!
Sounds good! I’ll eat anything…as I’m sure you’ll learn from reading 🙂
