VitaFusion Multivitamins: Gummy and Delicious

**The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of VitaFusion**

If you read my post on Tuesday about my personal ten essentials for backpacking, you’ll know that gummy candy like Swedish Fish is at the top of my priority list. I love LOVE gummies and if I’m being honest, they’re kind of like crack to me. You can even ask Will—I insist on putting gummy bears on my froyo even though he insists that they get all hard and cold. I even found a small candy booth down the street from me when I lived in Spain, and I would visit this kind little man daily just to purchase 5-10 individual gummies (they don’t come in packages there) to curb my addiction.

So, I’m sure it comes as no surprise then that I am freaking head over heels for VitaFusion Multivitamins!

Truth be told, I was psyched when the opportunity for this partnership arose because they are already my favorite vitamin. I’m not sure I’ve mentioned this to y’all in the past, but I don’t do supplements of any kind. I do, however, take multivitamins just because I feel like they help balance me out and provide anything I’m not getting through my daily food consumption. Unfortunately, I have two problems with big ol’ hard pills: first of all, I suck at swallowing them, and secondly, they really upset my stomach!

Back in 2008, I was a middle school teacher and as a result, I got sick all the time (hundreds of kids will do that to you!) I decided to start taking a multivitamin to ward off the germs, so I bought a bottle of regular pills and kept them in my desk at school. However, after a week of taking them, I realized that they were wreaking havoc my stomach! One day, the vitamin made me so nauseous that I had to leave school in the middle of the day and find a substitute to cover my afternoon classes. Now, it takes a lot for me to miss work, and it takes even more for me to bail out on a day because of a “tummy ache’”, so you know it was rough!

That’s when I found the VitaFusion MultiVitamins, and I’ve been taking them ever since. They’re gummies, just like my beloved Swedish Fish, and honestly, they taste just as good. Lame but true fact: I look forward to taking them every day! More important than the taste, however, is that they don’t upset my stomach like those previous vitamins. I take two a day (the recommended serving) and just munch away while trying to trick myself into thinking that I’m eating candy. I’ve even started getting Will to take his vitamins just by shoving the gummies into his mouth, and he is in agreement—these suckers are tasty! Guess it’s not hard when they come in berry, peach and orange flavors, huh?!

The singular downside: a gal on Twitter ever-so-politely (!) informed me that these multivitamins have sugar in them, and she is right; they definitely do. According to the nutrition label, there are three grams of sugar per two gummies. Basically, I am adding 3/4 of a teaspoon of sugar to my daily diet in choosing to take these vitamins. You know what though? I am absolutely okay with that. As I mentioned, I really enjoy the taste of these vitamins which helps me remember to take them every single day, without fail. If a little extra sugar is all that it takes to get a multivitamin down my esophagus 365 days a year, then I am happy to do it!
