I know, I went MIA for a bit but like I mentioned before, May is OUT.OF.CONTROL. at work. I’m still breathing, so I’m calling that a win 🙂
But then, just to add a little more chaos to the day, the weather decided to do a crazy flip flop and it has been raining/sleeting/downright cold all day! Yuck! Normally, I wouldn’t mind but I am actually heading up to Estes Park  in a few shorts hours for a wedding. I am really excited because the groom is actually an old high school friend, so it should be a mini reunion for many of us. Even better? It’s held at an old YMCA camp that I used to go to when I was younger. They have these awesome little rustic cabins that my family and I would stay in while we enjoyed hiking around for the weekend.

Granted, ours cabins definitely were not this massive, but since all of the wedding party and additional friends are staying in one cabin this weekend, I have a feeling it is going to be pretty large.
Unfortunately, it looks like the weather is going to suck all weekend! Angel’s husband, who is up there already, called this morning to tell us that IT IS SNOWING!! Not prepared for that at all! If you remember from way back when, I already planned to wear a tank dress. I purchased it at H&M in March and literally haven’t taken the tags off because I haven’t had a reason to wear it!

| Yes, I reused this picture. It’s okay. |
I had debated the belt/shoe issue (First World problem, I know!) and finally settled on red for both: a skinny red belt with some super cute red heels. I understand that I slightly resemble an American flag, but I have accepted this and moved on. Ryan told me that people may start singing The National Anthem when I walk by, but I’m pretty sure I can handle it. I was going to take a picture with the red to show y’all, but quite honestly, I’m running late! And, I’m sure I’ll come back from the wedding with 400 unnecessary pictures that y’all will be forced to see, so I’ll just ask you to sit tight and wait with baited breath!
Anyway, I AM going to still bring my new Columbia Peak Freaks with me because I am dying to try them out! They were recently featured in Outside magazine as the best ever hiking shoes (slightly paraphrasing, but it’s cool!), so Columbia kindly sent all Omniten members a pair to test. Unfortunately, life has been insane, so this weekend is the first chance I’ve had to tromp around the mountains. Soooooooo rain or shine, snow or sleet, the Peak Freaks and I are going hiking!!

Yeah…it was snowing as we came through Georgetown and Idaho Springs this afternoon! I felt a little guilty for whining about the heat in Grand Junction!
Either way – have fun and enjoy those sweet shoes!
Colorado weather reminds me a bit of New England weather – don’t blink or the weather might change!
I still love the dress, and totally think you should wear it.. Just throw on a cardigan or something if you get chilly. Have FUN!
I love patriotic! I think you’ll look FAB!
Oh I can’t wait to see your cute american flag outfit 🙂 Hope you had fun at the wedding this weekend!!! So cool that you got to go to a place from your childhood, what fun memories…
Not too patriotic at all! It’s cute!
Just wear tall boots and pair a cute little blazer jacket with it, and BAM, you’re all ready for the snow. You could even take off that tiny little blue belt and replace it with a wider brown one, and it would tie the “winter” look together a little more.
Nope! Skinny red belt and red heels and I was good to go 🙂
I hope you had a great time at the wedding!!
Definitely not too patriotic. Rock it, Girl.
that dress is super stinkin cute!
dude. I love that dress…and you can pull it off!
