I know, I went MIA for a bit but like I mentioned before, May is OUT.OF.CONTROL. at work. I’m still breathing, so I’m calling that a win 🙂
But then, just to add a little more chaos to the day, the weather decided to do a crazy flip flop and it has been raining/sleeting/downright cold all day! Yuck! Normally, I wouldn’t mind but I am actually heading up to Estes Park in a few shorts hours for a wedding. I am really excited because the groom is actually an old high school friend, so it should be a mini reunion for many of us. Even better? It’s held at an old YMCA camp that I used to go to when I was younger. They have these awesome little rustic cabins that my family and I would stay in while we enjoyed hiking around for the weekend.

Granted, ours cabins definitely were not this massive, but since all of the wedding party and additional friends are staying in one cabin this weekend, I have a feeling it is going to be pretty large.
Unfortunately, it looks like the weather is going to suck all weekend! Angel’s husband, who is up there already, called this morning to tell us that IT IS SNOWING!! Not prepared for that at all! If you remember from way back when, I already planned to wear a tank dress. I purchased it at H&M in March and literally haven’t taken the tags off because I haven’t had a reason to wear it!

I had debated the belt/shoe issue (First World problem, I know!) and finally settled on red for both: a skinny red belt with some super cute red heels. I understand that I slightly resemble an American flag, but I have accepted this and moved on. Ryan told me that people may start singing The National Anthem when I walk by, but I’m pretty sure I can handle it. I was going to take a picture with the red to show y’all, but quite honestly, I’m running late! And, I’m sure I’ll come back from the wedding with 400 unnecessary pictures that y’all will be forced to see, so I’ll just ask you to sit tight and wait with baited breath!
Anyway, I AM going to still bring my new Columbia Peak Freaks with me because I am dying to try them out! They were recently featured in Outside magazine as the best ever hiking shoes (slightly paraphrasing, but it’s cool!), so Columbia kindly sent all Omniten members a pair to test. Unfortunately, life has been insane, so this weekend is the first chance I’ve had to tromp around the mountains. Soooooooo rain or shine, snow or sleet, the Peak Freaks and I are going hiking!!
