What a whirlwind of a weekend! Let me start from the beginning….
Guess what I did for the first time ever in my whole entire life on Friday? If you guessed “meet up with a group of strangers from the internet,” you’d be right! There is a large group of Denver blogger gals that I’ve stumbled upon over the past few weeks, and since we all seem to have a lot in common, we decided to meet up and see if we actually liked each other. Luckily, I think we did and we had a great time!
(All the photo cred goes to Tiffany. While I’m sure we ALL had our cameras, we didn’t want to be those people and attack the poor waiter. Tiffany’s camera won the lotto!)
We met at Hapa sushi for a little happy hour deliciousness, and then followed that up by seeing The Vow, the new Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum chick flick. It was good, but not quite the tear jerker I was expecting. Actually, I’m pretty glad about that…..how embarrassing would it be to cry in front of a bunch of women you just met?!

Know what else I did this weekend? Nailed down my thesis project! Now, I doubt that this is exciting to any of y’all, but I’ve really been struggling with it lately. In the end, my adviser and I decided that I will develop a curriculum that can be used to train outdoor education instructors who will be working with special needs individuals. As I have mentioned before, this is my area of interest and I have done a lot of outdoor education programs in this field. I’ve noticed that while the outdoor ed component is strong, the Special Ed training is lacking and quite honestly, it would help improve many programs.
Ha, or at least that is my opinion! 🙂
Anyway, after that stressful and looooooooooong day, I woke up on Sunday feeling quite sprightly. Of course, it was literally 10 degrees outside, so there was no chance of me doing my run in the great outdoors. I’ve expressed my utter hatred of the treadmill, but I did some self-talk and decided I could do it this one day.
I took the cue from someone (who I don’t remember!) and took my phone so I could stream Netflix. And you know what? It worked pretty darn gloriously! Granted, the screen was miniscule, but I had something to focus on which really helped me get through the 5 miles. I now understand why all of y’all watch Buffy or Felicity or whatever else while you are running. I GET IT! I spent some quality time with Jack Bauer and managed to crank the miles out.
For the record, does anyone have a more exciting life than Bauer?!!
Oh, and there may have been sparkly vampires and attractive werewolves involved yesterday. I can’t be sure.

For my last exciting news of the day, guess what else?! I spoke with Suzanne over at Akinz and she was so excited about YOUR enthusiasm for her beanies that she decided TWO of you get to win one today!
So, having said that, the two winners are:
Shoot me an email with your mailing info and which beanie you loved, and I’ll make sure Suzanne gets it!
Didn’t win? Never fear 🙂 Suzanne has also provided you with the discount code COGAL for 25% of any of her beanies on her site! It’s good through this Saturday, 2/18, so head on over and grab your own!

What did you do this weekend? Any sparkly vampires for anyone?! Or The Vow?
Does anyone else watch movie while on the treadmill? Was I seriously the last one to link into this wonderfulness?
