Soooooooo excited for this weekend! As I mentioned before, me and a few girlfriends are headed up to Buena Vista this weekend for a 14er trip. Depending on which list you follow, there are roughly 53-55 14ers in Colorado (mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation). It’s a pretty big accomplishment to climb all of them, and I’d really like to do just that! I’m not sure of my exact number, but I think after this weekend I will be around 43-44……so not too many left!
More than anything, I’m just excited to be in the mountains and spend a few nights in my tent. I wish I could bring Tals but I really think 3 days of strenuous hiking, as well as the talus fields on her paws, will be too much for her. If she had the ability to exercise some form of self control, it might be better for her, but considering she chases mountain goats, picas, marmots, and anything else with fur and/or legs, I’m guessing she would do well over 100 miles in three days….too much for her. She is staying with mom and dad, so at least she will get the extra-special grandma loving 🙂
On a completely different note, I talked to my ex-boyfriend/still very good friend Brad today and he mentioned that I have some new, avid readers! Hope you enjoy my blog, and as it says above, welcome to my world 🙂
