The Wicked Witch Does 10ks?

Ok, so I got my pics back from the Lucky Laces run this weekend… and I must say, they are not good!

Here is the thing– I have this weird habit of looking like the Wicked Witch of the West when I concentrate on something, anything. My mom has passed me while driving and, in her words, I looked like I wanted to ram the car in front of me. When I run, it’s apparently the same. I look SO angry in these pics! For example:

Not okay. This was near the finish line, so I should be happy. But no, instead I look like my foot is killing me and I’m miserable. Oh wait…

And then there are these. I forgot to tell y’all that a woman and her boyfriend/husband/significant other were standing on the side of the course completely screaming at each other! Like, the woman was red-faced and throwing stuff and the guy was yelling back: total scene. Anyway, I was intrigued by this fight and kinda wanted to hang out and watch. I mean, it was like reality TV in City Park, you know?

Well, apparently I watched it for longer than I though! Every single one of my pics has Craig and I looking at the couple, clearly fascinated with the drama. Priorities, people.

Clearly I NEEDED to see this fight!! (It was some good drama, y’all!)

Know what else? I really need to fix that pronation issue. I’m practically knock-kneed!

********************
What is it with race photos? Do I really look this absurd in real life?

Do you take good pics during races?

LOL – you were sooo into their business. Too funny! How’s that foot? My PT sent me the article if you want it – it’s about re-strengthening the intrinsic muscles.

OMG that is a freakin’ riot about the couple on the side of the road!! I would’ve been SO distracted by it too!! hahah! PS. I’m the same way when I run or am driving or doing anything requiring concentration – I look downright pissed off. No bueno. LOL

I always look like I wanna kill someone unless I see the photographer in time to throw out a smile. I love your outfit though! Hope the foot is feeling better.

That is funny, it must have been a pretty riveting fight, who doesn’t love good drama when you aren’t the one involved! I love your socks btw.

I look pretty mean in my race photos too, unless I see the photographer then I look all cheesy.

My race photos are ridiculously awful. I saw a woman and man fighting and he was kicking her out of the house one time during a race! I did the same thing you did.

Mine are either me looking like I’m going to die, or if I spot the photog in advance, some iteration of me being riiiiidiculous!

bahahaha. i love the happy “lucky” writing and then the stern face in the first pic!!!

Look, it’s Mrs. Gulch! Just kidding!! You’re too funny. I don’t think they are bad at all. Seriously.

Good drama during a run! That is awesome!

Hehe did you see any cameras out? Could of been a reality show in the making. Here in Alaska, every time we see drama there always seems to be a couple camera men surrounding the action haha….

That is one serious face in those pictures, looks like you are ready to kick ass and take names…nothing wrong with that!

I bet! I’m seriously dying to get up to Alaska and do some more exploring. I went with my grandma once, but she was 80 so the outdoor thing wasn’t a big component of the trip 🙂

Go for it…come in the summer though that is when all the things to do are doin…lots of area to cover so save some time!

Haha I love the last photos! I would have been staring too!

I think my race photos turn out so-so, but I’m sure most of us feel that way!

SO funny about the angry couple! I wouldn’t be able to look away either. And I don’t think anyone is ever happy with race pics–I always hate mine!

  • Reply Hugh Jass at

Hahaha! I would have watch too. Maybe even stopped to cheer someone on.

Oh, and next time go for a photobomb. Those are the only great pics because no matter how bad you look, you are still an awesome bomber!

It’s okay, that lady in red TOTALLY wanted to see the fight too! I would have too, let’s be honest!

  • Reply Kara at

I would slowed down to watch that fight. 🙂

Just becuase you’re not grinning from ear to ear doesn’t mean you look witchy!!! I can’t believe you already got your race photos back! We are still waiting on ours.

Don’t worry about the starring…if they cared about people starring, they wouldn’t have made a scene. Everyone loves a good drama show!

My race photos are always crummy. When I see the photographer along the side of the course, I always try to ham it up. I never buy the photos, anyway.

I always look like a crazy hunchback in my race photos (except for a few that I manage to not look a huge total disaster haha)!!

  • Reply Lena @Fit on the Rocks at

haha it’s cool. I look really constipated when I run apparently. That’s what the race photos say anyway…

  • Reply Heidi Nicole at

Ha – I’d totally be into their business, thats what they get for laying it out in public!

And my race photos usually have me with my mouth hanging out trying to breath {obviously a mouth breather…} but I look more like I’m dying! Lately I’ve managed to see the camera up ahead and at least shut my mouth and stand up straight!
