Basically, it looks like a great way to get to know some fun facts (7 to be precise!) about each other, as well as recognize other awesome bloggers out there in the blog-o-sphere. (Is that a real word? Doubtful. I think I’ll make it one anyway.)
So, without further adieu, 7 random facts about me:
1. I bribed a customs official to get into Cambodia. True story, but please don’t arrest me; it was a few years ago! I didn’t realize that I needed a full passport page for the visa, and I didn’t have one. Luckily, I had just come back from South America and realized that an American $20 will go a long way in a 3rd world country….made that guy’s day AND I got to check out Angkor Wat. WINNING!
2. I rode my bike across the country. A few years ago, an ex-boyfriend and I decided to ride from Colorado to Miami with a lot of zig zagging in between. Lots of urban camping, crazy stories, and 3,893 miles later, we finally made it to the sunshine!
3. I have asthma. Actually pretty bad, and when I was last tested, I only breathe at 55% of what I should. But that’s ok, I’ve learned to cope with it.
4. I got stung by a jellyfish once. It hurt. I was scuba diving off the coast of Ecuador, taking my PADI open water certification. Our instructor asked us to swim to the other side of the island to demonstrate our swimming abilities, but little did he know that we would be swimming through a sea of tentacles. OUCH!!!!!
5. I am on a mission to summit all of the 14ers in Colorado. Admittedly, I’ve been at this goal for a few years. (For those of you that don’t know, 14ers are any mountain over 14,000 feet). Colorado has around 55 of them, but I’ve been hovering around 40. I’d like to knock off a chunk this summer. Wanna come?!
6. I’m addicted to my dog. Well, not really but kinda. I love my baby and she is my little guard dog 🙂
7. I love to travel. My two most coveted travel locations were Machu Picchu in Peru and the pyramids in Egypt. I finally got to the pyramids last year, so now I’m eyeballing Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. After all, I’ve gotta get there before the glacier melts!
So, now the even more fun part! My fave 15 blogs that I stalk on a regular basis:
- Cely at Running off the Reeses. She is freaking hysterical. Period.
- Kayla at KP Loving It. If you ever want to meet an awesome Texas gal, look no further!
- Adrian at One Percent Justice. He is my bff’s husband and he shares stories about his job as a police officer. Definitely not your typical blog!
- Beth at Shut Up and Run. Again, her sense of humor kills me; plus, she is another Colorado gal!
- Training Like a Girl. An extroverted introvert…and a Gemini 🙂
- Greta at Greta Guide. An old friend who is making a huge bang in the fashion world with her efforts to make fashion more sustainable.
- Sarah at Skinny Runner. Who doesn’t love this blog already?
- Jenae at Hungry Runner Girl. Please see above.
- Ms. Q at A Duck on the Run. An American runner in South Korea is automatically cool
- Jess at Blonde Ponytail. An awesome runner who just made the Nuun Hood to Coast Relay Team!
- Emma at The Quirky Kitchen. Girlfriend can cook like nobody’s business!
That’s only 11 but I’m spent…after all, I did get up at 5am to bike to work….I think that definitely calls for a 9:30 bedtime! (Plus, I am super uncool and that’s pretty typical!)

#1 I totally want to come and get my butt kicked on a mountain sometime in the nearer future. #2 I’m envious of all your extreme traveling, I wouldn’t even know how to start planning a trip that didn’t consist of all inclusive meals drink and entertainment. #3 I feel so specail to be mentioned on your favorite list, especially since I’m in minority with all the running talk!
